PN, congrats!
When we moved into our second house, there were torn bits of wallpaper. BIL was helping us move in. He put a bulb against the tear in the wallpaper and it lit up!
I know that's illegal to take a light fitting with you when you move but who in their right mind would do such a thing?
In the first house they fancied themselves as ameteur electricians. There was a (very high) power socket in the bathroom wall so a TV could be plugged in. Plus a spur from the ring main on an overhead cable to the garage as mentioned before.
We have a granny style light shade with normal bulb in the old bathroom. And no steam extraction of any sort.
And in the second bedroom the bulb random ly lights up a little bit sometimes, just a bit so that you think you might be imagining it or going mad. This was pointed out to the guy who did the electrical safety check but he said it wS ok. :eek:0 -

I am frequently impressed by the wide range of interests and social media/web links NP post.
I am prepared to make an exception for pornhub.
How do you get tweets from there?0 -
Deleted some gossip.
Well, met the neighbours .... and got the gossip. .....
It'll be OK it seems......0 -
Hurrah PN!
Good neighbours , people who have standards and who if you feel in a pickle you can probably turn too as well! What luck!
In turn, they have a kind, nice, quiet neighbour , whose GT ing will not be overly gratuitous. Sounds super!0 -
That's good PN. Much more important than whether the walls need painting etc. We have already spoken to our neighbours more than we ever did for the entire time we lived in London. Got some drinks this Sunday with the whole cul de sac, which is 8 houses. They'll probably all hate me but OH should be more popular.0

Or who will keep their overtly gratuitous GTing behind closed doors at least
The power of good neighbours should definitely not be underestimated. Esp when you're in receipt of a 25% reduction on your CT.chewmylegoff wrote: »That's good PN. I'm sure you'll be fine. Just take along some nespresso or something
I was provisionally invited to a neighbours barbecue last weekend. They weren't as brave as my family though - we didn't let a bit of rain put us off!0 -
Agree completely that the neighbours are more important than the emulsion..
So pleased for you...you can now move in and on.0 -
I wish I could thank that post twice chewy. Good neighbours are worth far more than a lick of paint.
Plus, and this needs to be said Pastures, they will doubtless be delighted to have you over the Jeremy Kyle show too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? She's not old enough to drive legally yet, hence the airfield. No way would I let her out on the road, and if it was legal, not in a car like that.💙💛 💔0
