That's great news Pastures. Sounds like you are really settling in.
Sometimes local councils and charities (eg Age Concern) have lists of local handymen willing to come in and do small works. Where I work we refer people to the local charity for the elderly (even if they aren't old) as they maintain such a list. It's not Age Concern where we are, but a local group. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Well, to be honest ... it's nice, but I've been in analysis paralysis over the amount of tweaks/small jobs that need doing and not managing to know where/how to find an affordable, but good, handyman.
But .... the freedom's marvellous. The light's fantastic. Having a bath is fab (typing this wrapped in a bath sheet as I just had one).... and it's nice knowing that I can plonk stuff anywhere I choose as there'll never be an inspection
What's the full list for your handyman, PN?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Had second meeting with EA at old home today. Had intended to do some more clearing, but found I felt so shaky after the meeting had to come back home. EA decided that it was prob best to just have a single photo of the exterior. She will contact us when the brochure is ready for us to check, and the people who do the energy thing and floor plan will get in touch in next few days. We think we might go back tomorrow and try and get to grips with a bit more stuff.
It's OH's birthday today, so it's been a bit of a strange one for him. He's going to head out to an open mike night in town later to see if it's one he might try next week. At least he got out for a swim this afternoon.
Oh, not sure if it's a portent, but when we arrived at old home there were a pair of buzzards circling overhead! Never seen them round here before.0 -

If you're not going to be buying ... you need to finish up that gin before you sell. G&T is for homeowners, not rental scum0 -

I, however, have absolutely no idea what one of those could even be. Is it a chair that doesn't exist? Or a chair where a ghost is known to sit? Is it just painted white? Or a hologram?
Hang on ... I'm guessing you know enough about somebody to know which is their house.... I couldn't even guess the county right if I tried to look for it.0 -

I love them too. They are really a practical thing in modern sized rooms IMO too because of the lack of light obstruction.
I have some plastic chairs in the barn from ikea, but none of the grace of proper ghost chairs.
I have been looking for pots for the north garden this week ( though we cannot afford them ATM) and found an amazing potter doing not garden pots but beautiful art pieces of pots and vases.
Its against my own rules to buy things that we cannot use so we won't be getting one but I really liked it. A lot.0 -

I have (supermarket) curry for dinner + rather a lot of 'extras'. I'd been invited out for a curry (quite a big deal to swing an invite to that curry night...), but had declined as I'm not in the humour/ should be doing other things.
Will delete:
Quite a tense afternoon!0
