Aside from fangs and red eyes... my other big fear is that I'll glance up, to see a HUGE one, the size of a big cat, sitting with his nose against my patio door staring at me. Of course, that won't happen..... but that doesn't stop the fear......

No idea if those sonic noise things work... but it'd be good if [a] they did there was a solar powered one [c] it cost £5 and was available within 1 mile of here :)

Edit: If they work then [a] Yes Yes [c] Yes [d] No, but online. £5 to buy £14 P&P

Edit 2: eBay cheapest is £6.50, with free P&P from Hong Kong ... but I'd expect that to be a fake.... I'd want one from a "business" in the UK.

Looks like £20 is about the going rate.... but that doesn't answer the question of whether they work.

I've seen them in Lidl. Pack of 3 for about £10 from memory.

Really? That's handy to know. I'll google them....

There's stuff called rodent tracker dust... how fascinating (or horrifying). http://www.primrose.co.uk/rodent-tracker-dust-30g-bag-p-2284.html

I'd only need it to keep them at bay by about 10-15' ... could it be that your spot's too big to cover? Or do they huddle round it?

You know the dairy/ chicken house? Where people park? We had three in there. They don't work.

We have one in the kitchen, on.y expected to cover the kitchen, it doesn't work......ok, we don't get rats, but we wouldn't any where. We do get mice. One made a nest about four feet from where its plugged in.

    It doesn't work!

The farm next door has them all over the place. I've finally managed to get them to do something else, now our problem is under control.

They are a lovely idea. But they don't work. While we were trying every thing else and neighbours were using those in huge numbers we had worst problem I've had anywhere and the furries were killing the chickens.

Its pressure of numbers and inadaquate control. Most of the time there was enough dairy cake next door to feed them, when they got so huge in numbers they moved here and my poultry amount :D of food wasn't enough, so they killed a few chickens.

Its the same cute faces...no red eyes and teeth.

But its what they needed to do to stay alive. The things they will do when pushed are significant. Which is why making sure following a good regime and not ending up with poison resistant rats is really in everyone's best interests. :D

See, you wouldn't be able to do that in a rental:D.

Other than the furries, how are you finding the new home?

    Does tepilo use rightmove?

Thank you. Yes. Not a chance I'd be using them if they didn't.

Well, to be honest ... it's nice, but I've been in analysis paralysis over the amount of tweaks/small jobs that need doing and not managing to know where/how to find an affordable, but good, handyman.

But .... the freedom's marvellous. The light's fantastic. Having a bath is fab (typing this wrapped in a bath sheet as I just had one).... and it's nice knowing that I can plonk stuff anywhere I choose as there'll never be an inspection :)
