Me perfect view would be no sign of other people at all.
Otoh, I quite like the sight of people we have here, if you have to compromise compromise. Well I think. Lots of the people we see here are in colours like a carnival and provide beautiful entertainment at a good distance.0 -

I was going to post a picture of someone dressed for a carnival. I typed 'Brazil carnival' into google, and my jaw dropped. There's really nothing suitable to post here. They must get awfully chilly dressed, or rather not dressed, like that!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Hamster still behind the piano.
Earlier I used the torch app on my phone to peer down behind the piano. I tried to use a broom handle to encourage it along to the end to where we have laid a trail of hamster food to tempt it out, but it was having none of it. Now I am scared I have accidentally hurt it, but I really don't think I poked it - just sort of tried to sweep it along, in much the same way that I have done dozens of times when it has escaped and gone under the fridge. Perhaps it has just gone to sleep for the day. They're nocturnal, aren't they? TBH I have no idea how much of the day it usually sleeps for when I am out at work.
At least the phone didn't land on it when I dropped it, and at least I was able to use the broom handle to get the phone out, even if no success with the hamster itself.
Would really be a lot happier if it would just wake up and come out. Not sure how DD is going to react when I pick her up from school and say it still hasn't come out.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Does your vacuum cleaner have a blower option? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

No space.
The back of the piano has a strut a couple of inches high, and then there's a space about an inch and a half wide before the main backboard of the piano mechanism. The hamster is in this space. It's only just above floor level, and the space between this arrangement and the wall is only another couple of inches. The hamster can only be seen at all by looking over the top of the piano some four and a half feet or so above it. The whole piano is in an alcove between the chimney breast and the wall, with maybe three or four inches of space at each end.
I dare not contemplate moving the piano, even if I could recruit enough muscle to do it (and it's 100 years old, so made when even upright pianos were seriously heavy) for fear the hamster might jump out of its current location and go right underneath, from whence we might not be able to get it out before whoever was moving the piano dropped it directly on top of the poor hamster.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I love it when others have mad dilemmas just like those I'd expect if I were to undertake what they're trying0
