We need fresh free range eggs that don't have blood spots in them, ie unfertilised. No chance of getting those around here. What we can get are white eggs that are of dubious freshness.

Same with sweet corn. It's never properly fresh. I'm so tempted to break into a field and steal some, so as to get that just picked flavour, which is worth at least two or three noms.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Oh, I love acidic food btw, another of my favourite snacks / lunches when I can tolerate it is a pickled lemon. Heaven. Strong flavours replace bulk well.

Sounds fun. Ocado have Beldi pickled lemons, in a jar. That sort of thing?

While flying home, we had to take 3 US domestic flights. Delta has a new in flight safety video. It's very clever and definitely forces people to watch as there's a visual gag for pretty much every safety point.

Yes, that sort of thing. Also available from your local middle eastern shop. ( along with a wealth of knowledge and wonderful inspiration for food)

For some reason that I have not fathomed, LIR is very coy about whether RP is father or mother. Are you allowed to say 'he'?

Does it have to be fathomed? Cannot I just have this preference and it be respected and it considered another oddity?

    The possibilities are infinite...

    Let's see....

RP might be transgender or be intersex

It might be something another member of the rates household has asked me not to identify

It might just be a foible

That;s the theory. Some of the time one of the egg decides to explode with such force that the lid is blown open and bits of egg cover all walls of the microwave.

I'd guess the power's too high. My (cheap) microwave and all the (cheap) microwaves I've used in the past are probably a lot less power. Also, a lot of these methods will use reduced power, even on a fairly low power nuker.

I prefer my eggs poached IN the water. It sounds easier too!
Without a gadget, you can do that in a nuker too.... small/suitable sized bowl, water, drop in egg, !!!!! the yellow and the white .... cover with clingfilm..... nuke for up to 2-3 minutes, depending on the size of the egg/container. It's trial and error as every egg's a different freshness and size and every container's a different size. But you can see when it's done.

You need to find one of those roadside stalls that flogs fresh produce - where you drop the money in the honesty box. He'll have picked them that morning.

Also available from your local middle eastern shop.

... a strange concept. Until this thread I didn't even know middle eastern shops existed :) Never mind that they could possibly be "local". What's the google for that, "middle eastern shop in....."?

Edit: Looks like they're only in London, Bath and Birmingham.

Fir brings that stuff for me. Internet might yield results. Fir bought glac! fruit and Marrons glaces online last year.
