These are the ones we have over here. You just push a button and off you go:

Sometimes in the National Parks you put a dollar in a slot.

You rock up with a pack of snags (sausages) and away you go. When one person finishes you have your turn. A really nice tpark down the road from me has about 4 of these.
In the UK, if widespread, too many would be vandalised or pee'd on overnight :)

More likely they'd disappear and be weighed in for scrap

    Quoting has gone haywire.

I don't know how you get through the PIN to access the phone.

I have a few numbers in favourites, but there is a difference between being a favourite and ICE number. You don't want the elderly or young to be contacted in a real emergency.

I once lost my phone on a very lovely beach over here and it was handed in to the old bill. They called Mrs Generali who was stored in the phone as 'Wife' and she put them on to me.

I asked how they opened my phone. They basically told me I was a ????ing idiot if I thought that the Police couldn't do what they pleased with getting hold of my data and opening data sources.

Agree. That's why we have the idea of ICE as a nominated contact I guess.
