Because lots of people work near here, the supermarket does loads of ready made sandwiches, salads, cake, all that sort of thing, and OH won't give them houseroom, reduced or not. But they also do lots of discounts at about 7.30pm on chunks of fresh fish, or chopped up but otherwise left alone fruit, that sort of thing.
I went there with The Boy when he first came home from hospital before it was Waitrose. It was his first trip out: I wanted to give Mummy a short break from having to think about him.
He was 5 days old at the time. That was also the first time I lost one of his socks. The second time I took him out I lost a sock and both mittens. It was the start of a trend.
9 1/2 years later, I took the Generalissimos out on the weekend. The Girl managed to lose a sock. I have lost the kids' socks/gloves in Hong Kong, Paris, Nice (and Singapore? not sure).

I operate on the basis that Lydia is always right. Denials are inevitable, but isn't that okay? If he says it has not happened, then it won't be happening in the future, will it?
No, its not ok.
In the same way as holocaust denial is not ok and doesn't mean anti semitism doesn't exist, and many other such examples.
This kind of thing happens to women a lot, often in unavoidable situations, like in the street, where you cannot do anything about it, or in the workplace where you might feel unable to do anything about it. Here nikkster really is in a position to enable her self, and possibly/probably other women this person passes in his existence.0 -
Good luck with that. Do you have tenants in at the moment.
I looked at a potential BTL yesterday. The lesson is never to sell a property with tenants in situ. Estate Agent (who looked like he had only left primary school) said they would accept an offer 2% less than asking price :rotfl: I said if they wanted anything like that sort of money they need to sell with vacant possession and tidy the place up and attend to repairs before marketing.
Have tenants but will need to sell with vacant possession hence it is likely to take a while and potentially break the chain etc etc.
It is not actually a 'btl' property, the returns are not economic, it is a family home / development opportunity.I think....0 -
I went to my body worker this morning after dropping off the fluffy dogs with the groomer.
The body worker was really impressed with some of the improvements since medication changes, as am I, however, we both laughter about other things that have happened.
In particular my upper body has got incredibly tight and tense, which with less tightness in the rest of my back feels really odd. Body worker has put on weight and I didn't much enjoy the bit where she walked on me.
She said while she would ideally see me every day for a fortnight then monthly she would accept my suggestion I went back in two weeks instead.
I can stand up with half decent posture now, this pleases me.0 -

Is this some S&M practice? I doubt I could stand up after someone walked on me.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I've seen a new block like this for myself, close to my sibling's house - and I've seen a few on HutH when the person buying it had a ready-made pool of people who would buy it off them after they've bought it, renovated it, tenanted it.
If the market is smaller, the price should be cheaper - isn't that basic economics?
The fact it is tenanted now means nothing. Having looked around (which feels very intrusive) The current tenants have 2 kids, one of whom is at secondary school, sleeping in bunk beds. They will soon grow out of the property and move on. all the maintenance issues that are there now will need dealing with when they move on, creating the void now rather than at purchase.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Maybe the house has been priced lower, for that reason, already. Maybe LLs who buy tenanted properties find that as there's no void they're happier to pay the price being asked.
It'd vary town by town, road by road, I guess.... so can't tell.
There's one here that's for sale - tenant was given notice as LL wanted to sell; she found somewhere up the road; BTL LL has come along and wants it "for his son" at some unspecified future date and was happy to let the tenant continue living there for now - but she said it all sounded a bit flakey and she'd already made her choice to move (and paid fees to set that in progress).0 -

Not really. The market for Ferraris is pretty small yet they are quite expensive or so I'm led to believe.
It's supply and demand that make a price not supply or demand. It's easier to forget than you'd imagine.0 -

Don't look.
You don't really want to see them.
