Nice People 12: Nice in Nice

I went to the gym for the first time since I started radiotherapy. I'm really unfit now. In December 2013 I was riding 2 hours a day, an hour each way to and from work. Today I did 15 minutes on a reclining static bike on level 5 of 20 and was a mess. My stomach muscles are killing me!
Never mind, I'll build it back up.
Ha ha, I think you may be being a little harsh on yourself as your 'depleted state' is 10x what I could do.I think....0 -
Enjoyed today. Easiest money I've ever made! Just had to direct a load of people from one building to another 4 times throughout the day. I probably 'worked' for about 40 minutes, but will be paid for the whole day. Public sector, eh?
It was the Masomnia I like, friendly and chatty, interested in people.
I spent most of the day chatting to a very pretty German woman whom I have met before, but never really spoke to until today. She's very anti-EU (lazy Greeks) and doesn't like Merkel (ex-Stasi). Good fun. Will definitely suggest drinks after this week; need to put myself out there.

Nikki, if you ignore his behaviour he will eventually stop. In any case, why do you care what this idiot thinks?
Complaining to customer services or the manager will not affect what the idiot thinks. It will just make him keep his thoughts to himself more.
You should make it a point of principle not to change your shopping habits. Why should you? Courage and dignity, that's what you need! Although you don't need a lot of courage to face the silly twerp. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I agree with this. Rise above it“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse0 -
I have a dilemma (of my usual standard of importance).
On the way to and from work I pass a supermarket. Sometimes I pop into the supermarket on the way home.
I am most definitely a tightwad. I definitely try and eat only yellow stickered food. I don't impose this on anyone else (why would I want to increase the competition?), and fully accept that not everyone else is into this idea.
Due to the usual timing of my visit, I often end up bumping into the reduction man. I don't grab stuff, I don't stop anyone else from looking, and I don't shove stuff under his nose to ask for it to be reduced further. Usually I go away and wait for him to finish then return. I don't feel I breach 'yellow sticker ettiquette' (I've certainly seen much worse).
I don't think it's me being paranoid, but if he see's me I think he points me out to his 'mate' colleagues with a bit of a laugh (and not in a good way!). I certainly don't go in there every day. And some weeks I don't go in there at all. It happened this evening, (I didn't even pick up anything with a yellow sticker this evening - but I happened to be in the same aisle deciding whether I wanted some garlic bread - answer: no, I don't need the extra carbs/ calories).
As I was walking out, it occurred to me that I should say something. Nothing too confrontational, just if it happens again ask something like 'Is there a problem?'. I think I would prefer this to raising a complaint without trying to address it first.
I am almost certain I'm not misreading the situation. He is pointing and laughing. Part of me doesn't care (I have as much right to be there as anyone else, it's not like I spend a lot of time in there), I've been doing my own yellow sticker shopping for over 10 years, and much longer with my parents. But equally I don't think it's right. It's almost enough to put me off shopping there (if it wasn't so convenient on the way home). Quite frankly I'd rather go to Waitrose (and I've not noticed anyone laughing at me there!).
What do you think I should do?
If you want to raise it with him you really have 2 choices: confrontational or not. You're in the position of power here so it's up to you which.
If the former I'd say something like, 'What's your problem?' or simply tell him to stop pointing at you. If the latter then chatting to him might be good.
TBH I'd be inclined to go to the manager and complain.0 -

We're up to months now. At least the beginning of this year when I first noticed it. Tonight was the first time I realised I could actually complain. I'd love to just brazen it out. Its not very nice seeing someone literally pointing you out though. I really wish I'd shown him I was paying full price for everything today (well, everything was on offer but no out of date stuff). I know I'm not the only person who buys that stuff. I'm sure I'm neither the least polite nor most distinctive of them.0 -

Mas' day has left him feeling very, very brave. He ventured on to the biggest Scottish thread!

No, it doesn't. I'm not shoplifting! Or asking him to eat the stuff.
Its not very pleasant though. After talking it through here, I either need to ignore it, or do something about it (shop elsewhere, complain or confront).
But I have options.
Thank you ask for listening to my whinging and offering your help0 -

I'd live on yellow sticker stuff. I pass a supermarket in a posh area on my home from work. The baked goods keep the family happy for days.
Got to say if any staff made any comments I'd just thank the gods I'm cursed with an inability to care.:)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
