    Hopefully the depression will pass. I got pretty messed up for a bit when I had cancer. It passed.

    It sounds like you are making some good progress which is.........good. LIR now officially has the second worst typing on here, for now at least :).

    I'm sitting here on a park bench outside the old Government House in Sydney in a suit amd shirt. People keep nodding to me as if I'm some sort of official. It is very tempting to ask people to take their shoes off or something else non-harmful but just a bit silly. The Spring weather is lovely today. Warm and sunny. I love this time of year, before it gets too hot.

    Come on, you know I can do worse than that, and she's early days post recovery. My brain first broke over ten years ago.

    Spirit as always, is top of the class in broken brain writing, and will certainly leave me the dunce again very, very soon.

    Crikey, I do worse than that when I'm a little tired. :D

    You couldn't be more wrong, Maggie. No mushroom is remotely edible, honestly.

    Marry is a swear word! :rotfl:

    It's another of the old religious ones.

    'Sbody = God's body
    'Strewth = God's truth
    Zounds = God's wounds
    Marry = Mary (ie the Virgin Mary)

    Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
    Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Regardless of the result of the GCSE remark for youngest (still waiting to hear if it will change), he performed well enough to score above the benchmark in the maths assessment at the college to be entered into the November exam for the higher paper....not bad for an assessment that was dropped on him at the last minute and when he was already stressed out.

    No idea what their benchmark is, or the equivalence but youngest is happy about it and so are the college (he apparently scored in the high 80's in the assessment). Youngest was especially happy to find that he is part of a pretty elite group as the majority are being entered for next summer.
    We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
    Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Hospital day again.

    I'm really calm. I guess the car took all my fretting. I haven't even done my night before ritualistic pre prep. I figure I'll just shower and make up before I go.

    Male terrier. Westies might do. :). Depends if they learn the westie is harmless next door.

    Its more likely kiwi would only buy you very very short term relief, we still get plenty to keep him busy for example. A dog interested in them would help.

    you are very welcome to borrow Ruby, a stumpy legged black schnauzer with very strong terrier tendencies. She'd love to have something a bit more interesting to stalk and kill besides spiders. Please.

    The vote isn't even over yet and we've got another Royal baby on the way too.

    I'm as pleased for them as I am for the next expectant couple that I don't know, but I don't want to hear about it for the next 7 months or whatever.

    Incidentally, whilst I'd rather Scotland stayed, I think today's display of desperation from our Right Honourable leaders would have convinced me to vote yes. I was even tempted to post on the thread, then came to my senses.

    Can I double thank all of that? Particularly the last sentence, something I've nearly done several times.

    Oi! We aren't that bad, says the woman that's working in Salford and was born in the capital of England, York.:p

    Spirit, best wishes to you. Unsurprising that you are depressed, things will change in time, take all the help you get. Your colleagues sound lovely.

    lir, good luck, you are sounding very calm.

  • Forgot to say yesterday...

    Was walking across the living room late afternoon, and looked out the door to the patio to see a sparrow hawk standing on top of a wriggling and writhing blue tit. :( He just stood there and looked me in the eye! :eek: I was so surprised I just stood there and stared back at him. OH grabbed camera but just as the shutter went he flew off.

    Talk about nature red in tooth and claw! :eek:
