I remember explaining to one of my kids (can't remember which) that even though they knew the correct anatomical word for one of the fews parts of our predominantly black dog that was white, it probably wasn't a good idea to include it in a description of him to strangers.
:rotfl:Thanks both, I really like Fathers Day.
When I was a kid we weren't allowed to do Fathers Day which I didn't like but my Dad wouldn't have a bar of it. The Generalissimos love making a fuss of me, bringing me a present (I got a mug, a bottle opener, an multi-tool and a tape-measure/spirit level/pen/post-it note), breakfast in bed (partial English) and a cuppa.
I got loads of hugs and kisses too.
Happy Father's Day (I know it's belatedly for you, as it's Monday for you now!) Gen. Glad you had a lovely day :beer:PasturesNew wrote: »Might also go out to see if I can find a few old conkers lying on the ground and toss them into the shed.... and keep an eye out for some lemon oil spray.
I'd be interested to know if others have found the conker trick actually worked. I tried it a couple of winters ago and I think they just got nibbled  :huh:0 -

I watched it because of the legal tabloid smear and thinking it couldn't be that bad ( judge Judy that its based on was quite funny and sensible)
But its bad. Its very judge Judy ish, but to its detriment. He ain't got the grit, nor the American legal system. Its got no .......basis of application, which is bizarre, and he comes across rather unfortunately. As a result of the rather unfortunate pallid copy of the American copy. He's neither as sharp nor as wise as the original.
And,.....its just weird set up.
I'm sure he is a dry guy in real life, but its not good for this tv format humour, and I even thought, ' at least its just people like me watching this poor guy, not people who count'. Bit of a reputation Sapper.0 -

If you lot could oblige, watch it and vote for the big bubbly brummy so she stays in long enough, we might get some tickets to go and watch her do dancing.
Who does the voting? Do they publish figures anywhere? I've always wondered how many people vote.
Just to highlight that tonight isn't a voting night; it's the preliminary show where they pair the celebs and pros up. It then starts back in 2 or 3 weeks' time, when the show happens for real
I've got it set to record as need to go out now. Will light a light for Spirit on my return in 45 mins though0 -
I can see that with very hot jam put into pots and sealed whilst still very hot, there's very little chance of bacteria or fungus growing. Even if it is not all entirely sterile to begin with. I would've thought with the cold jam it would be really hard to make it sterile enough in an ordinary domestic kitchen. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Sprit, sending you all my love and best wishes.
One gin and some flat tonic also in shot. Thought I'd be decadent so there is a whole lime in there too :beer:0 -

I wore my (singlular) suit dress when I was away. Washed it today.
Turns out it was dry clean only (I was sure that I'd washed it before so didn't look at the label). The dress is now shorter than the lining:(. Hopefully it's only shrunk length-wise. That won't be too much of a problem as I am short.
I bought this dress for my viva (voce, as opposed to tifosi :rotfl:). It's been to two job interviews and two conferences, but not to it's intended occasion... yet.0 -

I'm having a flatbread from the Coop ... because I was in there looking for citronella and spotted it reduced from £2.50 to 65p ... and I'd have never bought it at £2.50.I'm sure Spirit would have done the same......
Hang on, did you light real candles?0
