I'll make a string lasso .... see if I can persuade it out. Later.

It's a fattish stick .... I had originally used it to try to get leaves out of the drain. Stick's probably just over 1/2" thick.

Just checked - that B&Q stake's 38cm long (deep) ... and the hole in the garden is 27" (68cm) ...... maybe the stick won't matter much ..... maybe the hole's too deep really .... and I need to get the stick out and fill the hole in a bit more.

    Sucks to be me :)

If you take some things on the on the food bank list for the church they'll be very grateful and a good way to break the ice and they'll be very helpful indeed.

One good turn deserves another and all that.

Well ... yes, but I'd have to go there first to find out what they want. They don't all want the same things - and the list changes when they get a glut/shortage of items.... so now you're creating more work for me! And, once I had the list, I'd then have to go shopping to get it.

It's kind of ... looking more like work/obligation/hard work now .....

it'd be quicker/less problematical to just do the 2.5 mile walk to see if there's a card in the one shop window.... :)

Anyway ... I've some shelves to finish building .... after all .... what could possibly go wrong??

I second all this, except I like porridge.

And I third it (and the porridge comment).

Take it easy, don't think about work or anything but rest.

Stella the schnauzer had an op to remove a non cancerous ( unless it changes) mass yesterday. Came home with the usual lampshade on her head and two drains sticking out from the side of her body. she's remarkably cheerful and easily mollified by food.

30 minutes on .... and shelves are close to being finished..... all I've got to do is drill in 8 more screws on the sides.... then affix the central struts with 4 more screws.... then see if it's flimsy/leaning/wobbly or good to go :)

Could you use water and float the stick out?

No, it's just a hole in the grass.... not anything inside it, so water would just seep straight into the earth edges..... and away. And, trying further, to force it to float .... might lead to the hole (that I need) to collapse.

I'll lasso it in a bit ... watching Judge Rinder.

Just got a bigger stick and peered into the hole... can't even see the stick. I think to lasso it is a several-handed operation. Need a light to be held, shining down the hole .... the lasso .... two sticks to try to pull the first stick away from the edges.... so that's a 2-person job.

Have to come up with another genius plan.........

Oh goodness do I feel a doofus, had the surveyor round from the housing association to talk about improvements to the house (more efficient boiler and heating system as mine is old and knackered, extra handrail on the stair etc) and I ended up collapsing.

Luckily Josh could see what was about to happen and was able to grab hold of me as I fell otherwise I think the poor surveyor may have been squashed by me falling like a blooming great tree.

Going to have to be strict with myself, complete rest from decorating and rushing around for the next couple of days..and then it will be boxing up my kitchen contents as finally, my kitchen units are going to be replaced (promised 16 years ago, never happened so we got a £50 from the paper kitchen instead).
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
