Sitting in the University library trying to motivate myself. Actually got quite a lot to do the next three days.

I've been really good these past few weeks and not been on MSE while I've been here. Finally cracked.

    Just want to sleep!

There is a fine line between procrastination and allowing just enough distractions and treats to achieve maximum efficiency....well that is what I have been told, I have never made it far enough from distraction and procrastination to know what efficiency might look like....
    I think....

Unfortunately I have nowhere near the level of self-control required to find such a balance :o

Mas, the light should finally be visible at the end of your tunnel. Are you getting some good vibes from that?
Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Fir and I got married befor his exams. He took the day off revising. Its the only time in two years of exams I've known him to take a whole day off revising ( especially so close to the exams) but he seemed relaxed about it.

I am! It's not even particularly difficult, I just feel worn out and want it to go away.

Hand in is on Friday, so I can't complain too much. I really don't want to be up till stupid o'clock Thursday night/Friday morning doing it. Just got to get on with it.

Is there an award for procrastination that I could nominate myself for?

When I get round to it, of course.

    I'd beat you. :)

I have utmost sympathy for the family. Their son is dying. They should be with him, not in jail. Equally I don't want to chuck the hospital under the bus if they were worried about a terminally ill child going missing, nor the police for doing their job, it's just that the outcome of that coming together of people who care has so far resulted in the worst possible outcome. Rather than looking in the mirror and partitioning blame, what's needed is thinking about now, and what's truly best for a sick child. The rest can be done later.

Thank you for expressing how I feel so succinctly.
But it should be allowed to seek alternative medical treatment if its demonstrated that's what you are doing.

Indeed. What I don't understand is why the parents didn't tell the hospital that that was what they were doing. I mean, suppose they had said to the hospital, "We have arranged for him to be treated at X Hospital in Spain, where they can do Y treatment. Please help us make sure we know how to maintain his food pump etc while we are travelling." Surely the hospital would have had to let them go, even if they felt (and said) that it was against their advice. Wouldn't they?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
