!!!!!! (sorry). Break down truck arrived at 9.15. At 10 he decided he couldn't fix it and even though we are only 30 miles away from final destination said he would drive us 1 mile to services where we would have to wait another hour for a second breakdown truck. Sort of fair enough but had they warned us first we would have arranged for the kids to be picked up. Then he broke the hand brake offloading the car. I asked him to write on his sheet that he broke it. He dived under the car and took a photo of corroded cable and refused to write anything. Then he called his boss who said they were abandoning the job and refunding the money so now we are waiting for my parents to pick up the kids and the break down insurance company are arranging another recovery.
What sort of breakdown service abandons the job and walks away?

Where does the can go? Remember the rail is so high I can't reach it. I feel that I should attach rings inside the tabs so they just glide across the rail.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The ones left here are full of cobwebs and I don't know how old they are. The ones gifted to me look like new (they're not, friend had lived in a number of flats with storage heating). You'd be welcome to them. But it would involve meeting :eek:Doozergirl wrote: »I find leaving them on the drive and sitting in the pub helps that. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

Mrs Generali has told me not to accept any money.
Thank you so much for the gesture. I really appreciate it. You lot were there for me when a lot of people that should have been were not. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Can I put in a plea to all readers to check their tyre tread depth, please? It seems that "legal but close to the limit" tyres played a part in LNE's death.Got this for my birthday. Just finished reading it. Very interesting. Recommend it to any NP who are into that sort of thing. So, question for NP:
Do you have eyelet curtains?
Does your pole have a central bracket?
Which way round do your curtain edges point?
Pole above the patio doors has, as does the living room. Not a fan of the middle bracket.
I don't like most of the curtain poles here. They'll do, but a few are (imo) too thick. I'd like to change them, but think it'll be a couple of years plus. I'd like to change a fair few sets of curtains too, but see previous answer.
I don't understand the last questionIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Duty of care & whatnot. Whilst it may be bad timing, his actions caused the handbrake to break.
I'd have punctured his tyres if I were in your position...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Haven't mentioned bowls for a while. Season is drawing to a close.
I took over the captaincy this year. 2 better players are on holiday, & I didn't call our game off tomorrow.
So short on players (2 are in hospital) & have had to talk my dad into coming out of retirement!
If we avoid humiliating defeat tomorrow, we have an excellent chance of winning the league! It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
