One holiday to Cornwall, it's a bit of a distance from here so mum and dad had this great idea to break the journey up by staying overnight in Devon (I think, could be the wrong county) in their brand new trailer tent.
We arrive, it's blowing a gale and when trying to pull the trailer tent over to put it up, a pole breaks, they didn't realise at first and had us all sitting on the edges of the canvas to hold it down why they worked out why the blooming thing wouldn't pull over. So then 3 adults (my nan was with us) and 3 children plus all the camping gear had to spend the night in one Ford Granada estate...it was a bit of a squish.
On arrival in Cornwall, they finally discovered the problem and unfortunately, because it was not fixable, had to hire one of the site's ready put up tents. Turned out to be a blooming expensive holiday for them as those tents were not cheap! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Good luck!... I would first complain VOCIFEROUSLY ...
Oh I have a team member who does that to the relevant people on a regular basis for me!0 -
I suspect an insurance based breakdown service that subcontracts the work to independent breakdown companies, each with a handful of trucks. Nobody has a commitment to the work in that sort of setup. The breakdown company just bids on different jobs for the night, and there were richer pickings elsewhere apparently.
I also suspect that the average brawny garage mechanic hauls on the handbrake a good deal harder than the average management consultant, but I could be wrong about that. The cable ought not to snap, though, if it is in good condition, and possibly Michaels has been spared a true calamity later on. This was all thoroughly annoying and inconvenient, but a handbrake that fails could have killed people.
I remember that sort of set from the first time doozer killed a car. A random breakdown company appeared - doozer was with greenflag at the time. I did change us to RAC as I wanted someone recognisable if I broke down. I see lots of Greenflag vans around now - we're back with them through our bank account. In the 14 years since that incident I have never (hope I'm not tempting fate) used a breakdown service. Doozer is a semi-regular.
I just asked him and he said he got a random truck from greenflag last time as well, which is a bit disappointing considering the amount of motorway network and proximity to a big city. The others are more expensive but I guess there's a higher chance of a quality service.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Fencing's just to deter squatters, robbers and idle kids as it's Grade II listed.

The thing is that our IT department isn't really answerable to anyone.
We should have a member of the board who runs IT that can be kicked in the balls/vagina by the CEO. We don't. As a result, IT is responsible to nobody. When strategic projects due to take a year and cost $20,000,000 take more than 2 years and cost over $60,000,000 nobody loses their job or limps away with my foot in their bottom. It's very stupid.
I would very happily fire every single person that works in IT in our company and also the outsourced support group bar one (John). I'd fire them from a cannon into a cliff.0 -
It's mostly curtain rails here. With wooden pelmets - something I'd never even imagined to exist before.
Are the rails metal rather than plastic? If so, your house is like the house where I grew up. Every room (except the attic bedroom) had metal curtain rails (with overlap as per my recent diagram) and a wooden pelmet when my parents bought the place in 1959, and I think they only "did" the curtains in one room, so all the rest are still like that IIRC. The metal curtain rails were a bit squeaky, but there was no problem getting the curtains to overlap in the middle.M5 wasn't too bad...but unfortunately first hill out of Exeter was too much for the car so we are now waiting for recovery
Oh no! Hope you got to your destination OK.To add to the complications, the lounge curtains are tabs not eyelets, encouraging them to draw across is painful.
Tab curtains are annoying. We have one pair, in the family bathroom. They're not big, and even so they're a pain to draw.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

It's like how those UKIPers always just seem to turn out to be racist.
They managed to vote in a UKIP councillor who was a complete racist in the Locals in Redditch. As soon as he was voted in, someone looked at his facebook page. What a shame UKIP didn't bother with a bit of due diligence. They should hire PN.
They held a new election and Labour made it in quite easily. I'm not surprised, but how and why did it all happen.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
