However, what I did not realise is that these were not originally mine, so I was a bit shocked in some cases to give them back to sibling for niece one. Ok with it because I was a teenager by then and realised my need was not as great and that it was nice for the next generation to have teddies that had been with their mummy but still felt disconcerting.
 Not surprised you were surprised. Obviously there are a few upsides to being an only.
My solicitor is in the process of arranging for DD to be treated by Stelios himself (with the defendants paying). I insisted I wanted her treated by someone with experience of treating hoarders, and I have carried my point. His private practice involves both adults and adolescents, and although 11 (which is what she'll be in a week or two) is a bit younger than he usually sees, he's read the report on her and is confident that she's somebody that he can help.
That's great that your DD will be getting help from somebody really good and gentle.
Counselling has helped me a lot, I do have *some* insight into why I clutter and hoard, but the sheer physical work of going through everything is stymying (spelling?) me somewhat. At least at caravan I don't have to do anything unless I feel like it. I think when I get home I'll have to try and knuckle down to it. Will feel happier when old home is emptied and we can sell. Short term that will be more boxes I think, but will just have to get OH to bring them down to living room one at a time to go through. Living room is currently a disaster area from packing to get away to here. Ah well, we'll prob hang on here a couple more weeks with a bit of luck. Dentist second week in Sep so will be back for that.PasturesNew wrote: »
I think they'll probably not fall down .... and at first I thought they'd meet the floor when I hung the first one, but having got them both up and puled them shut it's a case of them being probably 1/4" too long.... which I'll just be annoyed about, but do nothing about.
Yay! Bought and up! :j  I wouldn't worry about them being a little bit too long - will prob shrink a bit when you wash them!0 -

So, question for NP:
Do you have eyelet curtains?
Does your pole have a central bracket?
Which way round do your curtain edges point?
Only on the bifolds in our living room so far. We might get more at a later date. Too skint to buy more curtains at the mo. Have a lot of birthdays this and next month!
Yes, our pole has a central bracket. But I had to check my photo to be sure!
The edges point towards the window.
We don't have a prob with a gap in the middle as the curtains are incredibly full - too much so really. But one pair would have been too tight, so have 2 pairs which is too much. <roll eyes smilie> Sometimes you just can't win!0 -
!!!!!! (sorry). Break down truck arrived at 9.15. At 10 he decided he couldn't fix it and even though we are only 30 miles away from final destination said he would drive us 1 mile to services where we would have to wait another hour for a second breakdown truck. Sort of fair enough but had they warned us first we would have arranged for the kids to be picked up. Then he broke the hand brake offloading the car. I asked him to write on his sheet that he broke it. He dived under the car and took a photo of corroded cable and refused to write anything. Then he called his boss who said they were abandoning the job and refunding the money so now we are waiting for my parents to pick up the kids and the break down insurance company are arranging another recovery.
Oh michaels, what a saga!I do hope you're not still sitting and waiting. And also that your kiddliwinks have been collected by the Grandparents and are safely tucked up in bed. Hugs.

That's atrocious! I think we need to be warned off that recovery company - I presume you're with the MSE site's favourite breakdown service? Warn them about the local company.

I saw this property on Right Move earlier today... There's something strange about it... Why is the house all surrounded by that tall nettingy metal cage stuff? (You can see it round the back in the back garden picture too) And the back garden it looks as if it's all been strimmed and then just left. It's not very far along the road from where DD2 lived till last summer, but can't say I remember driving past it. I finally spotted it on the satellite map, it seems to be at right angles to the road, but with another building attached to it? Also on the satellite map there appears to be a large patch of red in the garden that looks weird. Generally it looks like a suitable location to film a Hammer Horror Film! :eek:0

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
Finally reached at just after 2!!!! So only 1 hours although to be honest at 7.45 we were only 45 minutes away. I'm not saying the handbrake wouldn't have broken anyway but I didn't think it was unreasonable for the guy to record he had broken it and then to basically close the door and drive off with no idea if we would be recovered from a mostly closed services seems a little poor considering their were 3 small kids....
Anyway next recovery truck eventually arrived about 11.45 (called as it was much later to be told that the one coming 11.30 had been diverted elsewhere to an accident and someone was supposed ot have told us it would be a bit longer) and loaded us up and brought us here. My Dad had arrived about 20 minutes before to collect the kids and DW but they waited until I was rescued before leaving.
So now just need to find out irf a new turbo is 600 quid or 1200I think....0 -
Gotta be honest michaels. I think the rescue company have behaved appallingly and deserve to be named and shamed. This is exactly the sort of tale of woe that the newspapers love at this time of year.0
