Can the NP resolve a dispute.

I'm a bit fussy(!) with food. I can't help but feel that some things really shouldn't go together. One such example is mashed potatoes & baked beans.

Am I alone in my odd-ness?

IMO baked beans only go with hoover dust, empty catfood sachets, used tea bags and anything else you put in a bin.

My DD eats sausage, beans and mash. Yuk.

My family's like that too. "It might come in handy later" is a reason for keeping all sorts of stuff. My parents got it from the "make do and mend" of their teens in the war years, and from the deprivation of their middle years when all the money went on school fees and there was barely enough left for food. I'm like that myself too. On the show, Stelios acknowledges often that there's a little bit of a hoarder in all of us, to a greater or lesser extent. I'm hoping that now that I've paid for my house and have a buffer of money in the bank, I'll be able to keep less stuff "just in case" because I'll feel confident that if I really do need such a thing in the future, I'll be able to afford to buy one, and in the meantime, what I really need is the space.

Truly pathological hoarding is different, though. It's keeping stuff despite being quite sure that you will never have any use for it, just because the thought of letting it go is irrationally too distressing or terrifying.

On a different subject, MSE have not only given me a Mortgage Free Glee badge, but a comment from MSE Andrea on the roll of honour thread. :D
I really hope he can help her and starting on it now is bound to be better as she is young.

DD new BF has a father who is on the spectrum and has had to move out of his 3 bed house as he has filled it with old tools and 'rubbish'.
He inherited his fathers house and is moving into it but he has started already filling it up. DD got involved in helping him to clear some stuff for him recently (along with the rest of the family) but he won't let go of anything.
Fortunately, DD has seen some Hoarder next door programmes so she wasn't shocked by it but said it was really hard to understand.

I don't have any hoarding tendencies at home (it's the opposite extreme as OH hates any sort of clutter or ornament anywhere) but at work, well......it's ridiculous.... but I find the chaos quite comforting.

You're right. It's missing sausages (a la Miss Spirit) and brown sauce.

I'm not a huge fan of baked beans (none consumed during the breakfast with PN, I assume they were offered), but every now and again they are ok.

    You are in luck.

I may have the supermodel bottom of your dreams.

I will have to start being rude to airport staff. And doing drugs.

I haven't quite worked out the busts yet as big ones are so heavy (so drag the fabric down) and I want to avoid using cups...but I think they are unavoidable.

DD bought in some swimwear for her website and sold loads of it and it was she that prompted me to re-visit the toiles as she had quality and fit issues. She said 'mum, you have got to finish these, we'll sell loads'' so can't argue with that.

Actually, she did a funny thing tonight. A Towie was in DM Online in a frock that she stocks on her site except she has different colourways. She was grumbling about it today as she can't get that colour.....so at about 5pm, she photoshopped the picture of the Towie into one of the colours she does have in stock and posted it in her Instagram. I think she sold about 4 in an hour (which is a lot for her and it is a £60 item).

No, same as baked potato and beans really.....just no skin. Maybe less odd if sprinkled with some Cathedral City ;)

Who Do You Think You Are is on BBC1 at 9pm.
Tonight it's Tamzin Outhwaite - looks at her Italian past and uncovers a rags-to-riches tale of her Great-grandfather.

I'm not bothered who the person is, it's usually really interesting following the journeys. I think I've only seen one dull one so far.

Was it good? Was watching Educating Yorkshire One Year On over on C4 instead but have it recorded.
I'm doing a rejuvenating and intensive moisturising face mask, before I subject it to a week's worth of sea, sand and sun. Obviously, both OH and Isaac are dead keen to have a go and put some on Kermie, to see what happens when you "rejuvenate" someone who is only a few weeks old.....

Images of Doctor Who regenerations abound ... !

    Sounds lovely :T

@SingleSue, congrats to your son on the results - definitely worth a remark if possible.

Can't remember who mentioned sticking a knitting needle into a socket when younger, but that just made me giggle uncontrollably with the image it gave (though obv. should also display some empathy for the fear and hurt ... ) :rotfl:

Are the plug in radiators in good nick? I'm after a couple!
I'm also potentially looking for a folding table!

The ones left here are full of cobwebs and I don't know how old they are. The ones gifted to me look like new (they're not, friend had lived in a number of flats with storage heating). You'd be welcome to them. But it would involve meeting

And then I had the really good idea of actually just stopping .... and wondered if I could just live in a big semi derelict house and just 'waft' about doing a bit of sea swimming, yoga, stripping a bit of wallpaper and going to painting classes at the Turner Gallery.
If we're voting for you, you can put my name down for this one.

    mashed potatoes & baked beans
Love it, love it, love it.

Whenever I'm doing mash, I think of baked beans. Cheese/potato pie .. and beans. Pie, mash ... and beans. I use beans where gravy might have been an (inferior) choice. Giant Yorkshire pudding, filled with sausages, mash ... and beans :) And, sausages/mash ... beans. Sometimes I've JUST had mash and beans!

    :)

Sorry .... they go together so well!
