If you don't get your new vacuum cleaner soon, the higher powered models are to be withdrawn from the European market. That impacts on five of the seven Which? Best Buy models. Here's some more info...

If you want one over 1600w, tough. My Miele is 1600w and is just fine, but then I don't have pets.0 -
Congratulations on the new badge LydiaJ. Nice touch from Andrea too. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? We bought anew lightweight one last week. We were very MSE as the model I wanted was £220+ in JL.
From Amazon the same but earlier version was £89 (the main difference is the colour???), and I had a £20 Amazon voucher that I had had for a couple of years.
It is Vax, does pet hairs. My SiL has one and I used it whilst helping her post op and just found it so much lighter than the Dyson. Dyson is now in the garage.0 -

You just need your new bed for them to lie on.
They are great. Works of love and skill.0 -

I have a friend who has students like that. It's a lot of work. It's OK for her because she only does a few odd bits and pieces of work otherwise, but it's not remotely suitable for somebody who works full time doing something demanding as you do. You can tell your OH that I said so if you like.
:rotfl:
Agree with you about that.
I told him.
The reason it came up is that I was feeling burnt out a couple of months back. Combo of work / house refurb and build up of the last 6 years.
We have had the natural decline in sales this summer (that we thought would happen 2 years ago) and I have 2 new ideas that I would like to try and develop.
For the 1st, the domain name + sample fabrics are purchased and I can see every piece in my head. That's the easy bit
Executing the ideas into products that may not even sell is 2 months of non-earning slog.
The 2nd idea is I have 'invented' is a new way to hem / cut swimwear that holds the bottom firmly but doesn't 'squish' it. It's nothing that clever.....just no-one makes swimwear in that way. I tried it out and it works really well.
I will have to do some fit sessions on larger, heavier bottoms at some point to see if it works over a size 14.
So, then Dream house appeared 2 weeks later and the whole idea of moving and getting shot of rented/leased space (so one doesn't always have to chase the £££ with really commercial pieces...as there is also rent to pay) and be able to step off the humdrum suburban treadmill led to chats about also being able to use the house as an income as well if needs must.
.....so he thought a loft full of students could be a nice little non stressful 'earner'.
And then I had the really good idea of actually just stopping (I was really burnt out ):o and wondered if I could just live in a big semi derelict house and just 'waft' about doing a bit of sea swimming, yoga, stripping a bit of wallpaper and going to painting classes at the Turner Gallery.
Of course, life never goes to plan and 3 weeks later we got a large order (from the one that just had the dodgy warehouse fire) and then some promo stuff DD had been doing paid off and we are now sending a lot of stuff to Croatia + USA as a result....and something else has just dropped into my inbox so, the idea of just stopping was never going to happen.
Then we did some sums.
Whilst we will 'do up' Dream house over time, it is still a 150k refurb and a few students isn't going to fund it but to try new things + develop something else that may sell will......one day, maybe.Doozergirl wrote: »I really understand the mud thing. I watched CBB too, I think?! I saw White Dee pretending to be a duchess. I may have missed a day already, but I think I will delve in. The shortness of it makes it more interesting than the usual one which I think now involves legally imprisoning morons for about 3 years, doesn't it, now?
I don't watch the normal one but CBB is just so addictive. I am that tragic that I actually log into Dailymail online for 5 mins everyday to read the comments under the write ups. Oh the shame....0 -
Without trying to make this into a hoard-off (I'm definitely not saying my tendancies are anything pathological as some here experience, more bad habits that need to be kept in check), the friend who I lent my carpet cleaner to a couple of weeks back (it's currently out for loan again - incidentally) was moving countries. They are coming back next year, so have stashed a fair amount of stuff with friends, but were looking to get rid of a lot of stuff too. I was offered a brand new (still boxed) microwave, two folding chairs, two bar stools, two plug in radiators, a small folding table, some cutlery and a lamp.
I managed to decline the cutlery (I already have 2 sets here), but ended up with everything else. I inherited a microwave and two plug in radiators with the house. I don't really need any of the rest of the stuff. Nor is any of it what I would choose to buy. Do I really need a 'back up' microwave? I am hoping I can give back most if not all of the furniture when friend comes back here. Then at least I was just storing it rather than hoarding it!
I'm also potentially looking for a folding table!
I've rescued 2 chairs that were left here. Stripped them & re-varnished. When I have some cash (2 months) I'll get material & re-cover them. They've gone into the library.
Having rescued the shed I ventured in. I discovered a new in box extendable saw/secateurs (a la PN), a fishing rod (fishing bores me), &an electric version of these:
I'm also debating uses for an old airer in the garden.:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Can the NP resolve a dispute.
I'm a bit fussy(!) with food. I can't help but feel that some things really shouldn't go together. One such example is mashed potatoes & baked beans.

You are in luck.
I may have the supermodel bottom of your dreams.
I will have to start being rude to airport staff. And doing drugs.0
