Look on the bright side. At least you can eat the pears and caramel yourself instead of wasting them on the ingrates. :)

I'd vote for this. It's better you get to enjoy it.... than them.

Where's the best online site to source a handyman .... and what do NPs consider a "fair price/hour" for a general handyman's services that will need to include:
    - fitting blinds
    - tiny bit of floor cutting/tiling (four tiles to cut/fit where they were never fitted at the back of the spaces for washing machine and dishwasher (now causing the washer to be unusable as it's at a serious angle of about 1cm lower at the back which will throw out the cycling of the drum).

I will try and sort something this evening, anyone who has expressed an interest over at the other place should look out for an email. We will be expecting something delicious at the NP Xmas meet up in return. Talking of which we are out of the country then and have a house that could be sat if that were of use.
    I think....

Yep ... he's not really getting a very good track record is he ...." episode.

I am not painting an unfair picture, he is a kind generous loving helpful radio obsessed diy accident/disaster zone.

The trouble is I can't stop him as he has unimaginable small ways of courting disaster ..and he is so funny.

I think it all started when he was a little boy and poked a knitting needle into an electric socket. He flew across the room.

DS went through a phase at primary school when he and his friends used to spend the bus journey to and from the swimming pool spotting minis - one point to the person who first spots each one. My kids and I still sometimes play it on long journeys.
I still sometimes play a variation of this, called mini punch. First to see a mini gives the other a punch. A yellow mini = 2 punches!:D

PN's virtual pad has not been invaded by spammers yet this month.

Count me in, but please can you decide on details in next few days as holiday plans are ever changing.

Still think the answer is to rock up with something clearly shop bought and let everyone know why.

    I am not very nice.
