We only have to do breakfast and dinner, they get their own lunch. We only offer them what we have for breakfast, toast, cereal, porridge sachets, juice ettc and they generally want chocolate milk and nutella on toast.

They get an exciting trip to the supermarket on the first or second day to say what they like. The most recent said she wasn't a vegetarian but would rather not have meat. We took her to Zizzi's the first night where she had a peperoni pizza and she then proceeded to eat meat at every meal even where we did things like spag bol and cooked a veggie alternative so I am not sure what the English meat she was worried about from her 2 previous homestays but it wasn't anything we cooked.

I remember someone writing about how many German vegetarians she'd met during an exchange and how she was amazed at how it seemed to be spreading.

I later found that parents of exchange students told their kids to pretend they were veggy when they came to the UK so they wouldn't go mad from eating our contaminated meat.;)

It's just that, a visit to the pub! One that stimulates your brain in a different way to a) a pub quiz or b) alcohol. It's this one I'm thinking of (there's also one in Stevenage):

OH and I went to one in Liverpool years ago. It was hugely disappointing. It was on ME/CFS, and just spouted the usual carp that the NICE guidelines do. No discussion at all. "Questions" at the end, but bland and useless answers. Would not listen to patients at all. Closed minds.

Hopefully yours will be different, but I think the organisers of the one we went to were stupid.

    Very clever :)
I want "Perfect Fit" frames, encasing venetian blinds, on two patio doors. It's a brand name .... a "no drilling" solution too .... if you're capable of measuring/fitting them ... I'm just scared :)

They'll have to be 25mm as it's the patio door glass - and white as the doors are uPVC. I should just order them .... it's theoretically within my skillset to not c0ck it up.....the pictures on the website make it look easy/achievable..... but don't they always.

There are alternatives to "Perfect Fit" that have the blinds encased in glass(?), which means you don't have to ever clean them.

Here are my urls for these beasties, all retro-fit systems:

    http://www.uniblind.co.uk/

It's the first link I plan to use....

You recommended those blinds to me, I got as far as ordering samples and then you posted that they didn't look amazing when fitted. At least that's what I thought you said.

If I said that ... it'll have been because I think you need to see them first. They might not be "posh enough" for you :)

I think they're fine. I just waver when any other NPs look like following my suggestions as my experiences/lifestyle is so different to you lot :)

    I just fear recommending ....

    They're great.

You can see them in a shop by googling for "Perfect Fit" blinds and your town name.

Oh dear. We had a NP meet fail. The boys were making dust and racket with hammers and sanders so I've sat drowing in tea in the corner of the pub a few doors away, pretending to work but mainly talking about curtains.

Sat all day wondering when lemonjelly was coming to just be told that he came and no one told him where I was :(. I'm still there!

    Wanna meet for coffee, lj?
    :rotfl:
Doozerboy chatted with me & felt guilty for taking him away from working, after a doozerchild had told me you were out. DB then said you were working, & I assumed if you'd had to take yourself away to avoid interruptions it was something important, so didn't want to interrupt you!
I came back & did some pottering, then a bit of reading, then set off for my bowls match (as you posted the coffee invite)

It's 10 mins from mine to yours. We'll have to arrange another, as I need to discuss kitchen designs with you at some point.

I'd even spent 20 mins this morning photographing the house to show you!:D
