I wanna know how he'd buy these phones.

I could cope with three handsets for now certainly.
People are starting to get cross with me for not answering the phone. Since that lightening.
Could you make do with BT Elements 1KM DECT - £50 each on Amazon? I don't know big your spread is, but 1 km coverage sounds like it is quite a bit. The reviews suggest that this works over a reasonable range. People just complain about the ring tone, that sort of thing.

That's what we had. We had main one in the dining room and a hand set in the cheese room, but it didn't reach to far end of cheese room ( so I couldn't cook while on the phone, this is about the most frustrating thing imaginable) and while it covered me in the front garden ( right in front of the house) it didn't cover the side garden or back garden, let alone yards or fields
I don't need it to reach a field at all.( would be handy, but I'm accepting these things are big fat liars)
I would ideally like it to reach the yard, often people call when other people want me out there) but could live without it, I would like it to reach the gate ( almost out there, so I can hold a gate open for a vet/dentist or someone on the phone ) the garden and at the VERY least! the kitchen end of Cheese room ( so I can let some one drone on while I stir a pot. I get very upset that I can't stir and a lot of things get spoilt.
The only problem I had other than coverage with that phone is that the volume was quite low. Because my hearing is not always reliable because of my brain, that makes things difficult, especially with people who resist emailing and want to talk important things on the phone, I'd rather talk things like dates which are easy to miss hear via email. Also, on hands free, volume was worse. If I have TN using a phone can be a bit pain ful a hands free a bit easier, but only if I can hear it.0 -
....oh my days, I can't catch up here.
I am still only up to page 140 (but I have my settings to 50 posts per page) . I will give it a go now as I am treating myself to an hour of Procrastination.Hmm we'd better put our name down quick before the mystery shopping slots all get taken, sea view sounds good.
Not sure if I said how good it is to have you back FC, I remain amazed at how much you and DH achieve, love your old house although having seen the 'back' picture I would never have guessed what the front would look like. The new house is amazing and demonstrates just what is wrong with the McMansions a few pages back on this thread.
We have the green Parakeets as well...I call them the flying squeaky toys. They only come down into our garden if I put out black sunflower seeds. Nothing else will do.
Had we known we were going to sell her, we wouldn't have done some of the things we did but it was quite a straightforward build on the whole. Had we not had to live in her and move from room to room, it would have been a lot cheaper too. I don't know if you remember, but we lived in the garden last summer.
The winter was horrendous but, like childbirth, we have forgotten about it know.
Good to be back too..........I always am drawn back here when I have some angst building up
Did you sell your BTL/Devt house?lemonjelly wrote: »Legal aid of sorts is still available for relationship issues.
For divorce, usually if there is property or children, then a solicitor would be required. Moreso in this kind of case, as there will clearly be a dispute. She'll need to show her money was used to give her a beneficial interest in the home.
However I suspect that if they've actually married, that becomes kinda moot.
Definitely needs to look into a solicitor FC123.
Cheers......I think we will tackle this one after we have moved.
I quoted a load of posts last night and lost the reply...and now I can't find them.
PN, sofas. If you do a filter on Ebay for Buy It Now, loads of dealers come up. OH chose the furniture / colours for the telly room (hence why everything is in matching grey except for a blokey blk leather sofa) and we got her new from a warehouse in Leicester for about £280 plus £30 delivery. 3 seater bloke style basic squashy thing. Worth a brows as I think they were ex display.0 -

I used to go for BIN as I wanted a new one .... I'm just rubbish at checking every day .... and rubbish at reaching a decision, always thinking that "tomorrow something better will come along..."0 -
Hope do your children enjoy the student's presence?
....also what's it really like? OH has a Master Plan to fill our new top floor with them (as there are tons down in Thanet) to fund the refurb......forgetting that it will be me who has to clean their rooms, feed them and do all the looking after.neverdespairgirl wrote: »Been AWOL - sister 1's 8 month old puppy Bertha died last night, and sister #1 is very upset, and also very cross.
The dog escaped out of an area that had been very carefully dog-proofed. When my Dad had last been in that field, he'd checked, and the gate was shut. Someone later in the day opened it and left it open - a someone who had no business so much as touching it, as it wasn't any of the family, there weren't any guests during the day, and it's not on a public footpath, or anything.
Bertha left via the gate, and was run over on the road. And the gate was wide open.neverdespairgirl wrote: »Without checking, I can tell you that no-one could possibly sleep on that. It's far too noisy......
I don't think it is. John Lewis is the sort of place you go if you want to buy something decent at a reasonable price, with good customer service and helpful advice.
It's about the only shop my Dad's ever entered willingly, other than an off-licence, I think.
OH likes it, too. You go in there to buy T-shirts, say, or pants, and come out with easily-acquired decent quality clothes.
.....PN made me laugh about The Shiny people with the shiny lives who shop there.
I have never really shopped there but during the past year I actually had the budget to choose things from it plus had some vouchers. I couldn't bring myself to buy the £5 tea towels (£5 each) and stuck to the Ada bundle of 5 for £2 (or something) but I did get an amazing toaster with glass so you can watch the bread become toast. I felt extremely shiny when I brought it home. Now, it's just a toaster.....
I did give in and buy a Wesco bin from Amazon though as JL didn't have the choice. It's on a wheely rack think and we whoosh it around the kitchen.
My shiny life only started a few weeks back and is soon to go back to being very un shiny when we move.0 -

That phone is meant to have a 1km range, and it can't manage inside your house? See what you mean about liars. Sorry I should have realised you'd have spotted something like that.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Oh dearest , darling FC, its so good to have you back here.
