That's great Nik! Glad to hear it, he sounds like a sensible man.

Kermie's having regular evening grumps, which are getting a bit dull. He's calm and happy baby all day, then goes into mega-grump in the evening. Lots of things are wrong, nothing's right.

    He's currently nearly asleep <fingers crossed>

WIll delete photo later, don't quote:

I have found someone -facebook recommendation, so friend of a friend of a friend -who power washes drives during the evenings as a second job. He came round tonight to quote. Don't know what he does during the day, but he is doing this to earn some extra £££. Looks about 30, married with 2 kids , I'm impressed that he is prepared to go out every evening to earn money on top of his day job. My dilemma is he is charging half the going rate, I told him he was reasonable and booked him, but wondering if I should say that he should be charging more.

Pay him and tell him then. You're still doing him a favour that worth more than paying him more yourself.

DS2 was like that. Fed and changed, not too hot, not too cold, nothing wrong but could cry all evening for no reason. Even when held he would try to be grumpy. There were times when he tried our patience too much and he was left to it.:o (by left to it, I mean put safely in his pram in a different room, not left on the street corner.)

It's just on the edge of it. 'The Avenues' has a faded grandeur about it but some very smart super boomer residences in them. What I like is that the area developed in the 20's and 30' when people bought a plot and then commissioned their house. Very similar to Rodean where we lived before but on a larger scale

It was a street we wandered down the 1st time when we did a viewing in Brothel St which runs parallel to it. That street is the last street of the HMO zone. Brothel St no longer has any brothels or dodgy bars in basements in it as the council shut them all down a year or 2 ago and compulsorily purchased a lot of the larger ex hotels. It is right by The Walpole Bay hotel which was on Hotel Inspector a couple of years back.

I recall wandering down it and it seemed like there was Perspex wall between the 2 streets as the difference was astounding....very strange. Couple have owned the house as a family home for 27 years but it's too much for them now.

I like Doozers pale sage green a lot. Dix Blue by Farrow and Ball is lovely too, denser/darker. The linky thing doesn't work for me any more? Link to long to insert here.

we have been told that this company Johnstone Leyland Paints supply F+B their colours but are a lot cheaper. Don't know if it's true or not.

Mmm. Johnstones Trade centres stock F&B and Johnstones are certainly intricately related to Sanderson. Never convinced, personally by trying to mix a F&B. F&B make their paints with different ingredients so colour/texture match is poor if you have a real eye for a particular colour.

Might be a good time to buy shares in 3M. And crisp manufacturers. And coffee producers.

I've never tried painting outdoor furniture. The closest i have got is buying teak oil and not getting round to using it. Can you just paint weathered hardwood like indoor softwood? Simple as that?

    £1.50.

I should point out that these cards are in high demand, not least because there are a lot of people (and I'm talking about those that go to extraordinary lengths to get Tesco clubcard points for Avios airmiles as well as the Elite thread on here.) There is no guarantee that every tesco you walk in to will have them available. On an average day a lot will have run out. Would hate to think of you wasting petrol sourcing them.

Um - I assumed they disappeared because they were so useful for money laundering/dealing with cash in hand earnings....I have a route to use them to pay of credit cards but this is very much kept on the down low as previous such routes have quickly been stopped.

Another car in addition to the Audi A1 has made it onto my radar. It's the Mazda 2. Has anyone got one, had one or know anybody who has one and is willing to give me their opinion?

Are Mazda's still just Fords in drag? Mazda 2 is a fiesta isn't it?
    I think....
