Of course, you know that it can't be taught as it's the culmination of years of experience as well as intelligence and insight others don't have..... but it still sticks in the craw.
Yeah, I'm not going to be doing that. They can work it out for themselves.0 -
Good! Sounds like they will have plant of problems after you go. For me the best revenge would be to get an even better job lined up.
I don't really care either way about their problems after I'm gone. I'm not going to set them up with problems because it's pointless and it's just too small a world over here. They will face some problems merely because it's a very hard job to do and there's simply no way to teach it to someone.
There's a good chance that I'll end up with a job that's either less effort or considerably more money for something similar. I earn a fair bit but I'm very underpaid for what I do.0 -
Gen, sadistic boss just didn't like DH for some reason. Political stuff that went beyond DH and makes a habit of firing people ( about a dozen I think now since DH, maybe?) Boss before who was just difficult has said 'jokily' since that DH I intimidated him because he's ( cannot remember exact word) 'sophisticated' or something like that. ( he's the boss that used to text or call at four am or random anti social, or very social times, to check one was on the ball).
I am afraid I made a very un politically correct joke which I felt summed up his attitude ( not his race, it just worked with my joke) .0 -

"swive" is medieval for "sex", innit?
Yes - 'yon wenche wol I swive' said Alein in the Reeve's tale. The modern version might have the Miller as a BTL landlord, and would play out nicely on the main housing board.0 -

Sounds obvious ..... but I'd never even heard of such things before the other day .... and then the penny dropped.
You could also have tab top curtains if the urge took you. If you do though, make sure poles are mounted high enough as you get a little gap at the top of the curtain.
All these different types of curtain sit slightly differently on the pole, something to watch out for if you want them not to gap at top, or to dangle in front of rads for example. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hmmmm. From your earlier descriptions I'm picking up hints of corporate failure that could take out substantial chunks of the company, if not the company itself.
If that's the case, although the timing sucks, could this work in your favour? You won't be one of a big chunk of people let go at the same time (possibly chasing the same jobs) and by getting out early you won't have the taint by association that later leavers may experience. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Doh!
I realised.... I just need regular curtains and a packet of rings

Yes, but no, possibly. The chances are that the curtain pole has been sited so as to suit a standard size set of curtains. If you add rings and hang the curtains lower, standard ones may not fit. You need to measure carefully.
Is this for a bedroom that you need to black out for sleeping? Otherwise, you can use the builders trick of windolene on the glass to obscure it until you sort the curtains out. If privacy is important. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
An MSE treat today.
I like salt & oil exfoliators but cannot apply it "all over". Mr Spirit does this job for me:).
So we have giggled our way through this, it is all showered off and I feel very spoilt.
OH says he has 'lovely hands'.
He also said it was like like preparing 'something' (presumably a hog roast..he was wise enough not to say) for the barbeque.
I always offer to return the favour, however OH says I am not to be trusted...as I cannot resist practical jokes .0 -

It could work in Gen's favour if he shorts the stock. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
