... it doesn't need to be said that if I attend anywhere where there is flame-throwing going on ..... then I'll be sitting in a corner about 200 yards away .... finger on phone over the 999 button.0

I would love to do a meet up, alas, September and October is a complete nightmare plus I would be as much use as a chocolate teapot for doing any kind of garden or DIY work, it would be 10 minutes help, rest of the day not able to move...hopeless help really.
I also need to get my confidence up driving the distances again, I know it sounds like I am being a wuss but I have no idea if I can even cope with driving for a long time anymore, even driving to Yarmouth leaves me exhausted and that is only an hour and a half.
If you came, everybody would be thrilled to see you whether you were capable of helping or not. But we wouldn't want you to drive further than was good for you.Even if you don't have anything to leave, you ought to have a will, if only to detail guardianship of any of the boys who are still under age. Saves hassle!
Must update my will..
Absolutely. A will's important if you have kids, to appoint guardians. It's also important to appoint executors. LNE had nothing of value to leave, but there was still a fair amount for the executor to do, closing his accounts, claiming refunds of the rest of the year's payments that he'd already paid (eg road tax on the written-off car), and most importantly clearing his house contents. From the PoV of those left behind, it makes a difference who does all that.vivatifosi wrote: »Hope all goes well at the inquest Lydia. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

The big bold X fronted one is the new Aygo, not the Yaris, no?My Nissan Juke passes all those, though it is a bit of a marmite car.
Mrs Wheezy is also looking for a small city runner...we're looking at Yaris, Hyundai i10 and VW Fox.0 -

I'm of the opinion lunch and flame throwing are better kept as separate events.
One strikes me as ideal for a Thursday, no marmite toast on offer. The other, I shall have stream of toast going for nikkster. I know she likes mushrooms, so I can premake some mushroom tart for lunch when she comes, then give her decent supper.
No salty sea dogs locally. There is a single farmer with a stutter.....0 -

When I saw them I couldn't quite "place" where the fixings were from, where I'd seen them before .... and I did some searches online to see how/if I could make some myself (i.e. what are the component parts), but I couldn't find anything similar except the finished product.... but I KNOW the metal outsides are "something" that is on the tip of my tongue .... and it bugs me that I can't remember what on earth they're from.
If one can identify that bit .... the rest is just two bits of cut glass.0 -
Another shop that I was probably dragged into, that sells them in 3 sizes: http://www.theclementine.co.uk/kiko-zinc-landscape-frame.ir
John Lewis do some too: http://www.johnlewis.com/nkuku-kiko-glass-landscape-photo-frame-brass-4-x-6-10-x-15cm-/p718066
The frame reminds me of very, very, old purses/bags/compact cases/similar .... just can't quite nail it.0 -

I did manage to attract the attentions of a potential suitor on Friday evening. Sadly he didn't attract my attention thoughHe is referred to as 'Tinie Tempah' as he looked rather a lot like him.
