You're on, let's plan something. Might be September? We can probably get flame thrower out but needs fast bodies with water on hand.

We so have marmite. If you are particularly attached to your jar its welcome, but, there is some here.

What have I let myself in for?! :D Sept would work for me. Flame throwing would definitely be a new experience :) No promises about being particularly fast though.

Not attached to my particular jar of marmite. I do eat other things too (too many other things rather than too few really), but we've already established I will work for toast :)

I hadn't realised the inquest will go on that long. I'd dress for comfort, mainly. Sober. Respectful. Unlikely to offend. If you are not testifying, there's no need to dress to impress anyone.

You are going there for your own benefit, and for the kids' benefit.

3 weeks is a long time. Take plenty of school work with you. :)

I agree about the dress, GDB.

Forget 3 weeks being a long time - anyone ever going near a court should go equipped with a newspaper / book / kindle etc, you won't regret it.

When my mother did jury service, she knitted two jumpers in the fortnight.

Oh yes, it'll mean buying some stuff but I need some more work clothes anyway.

Oh, and the second cheque's arrived. I'll pay it in tomorrow. It should clear by Friday so then I can get rid of the mortgage. :D

That's be a load off your mind, I bet.

Once you've cleared the mortgage, you can probably shell out £17-ish on a pair of M & S trousers. You could even be a devil and buy two pairs.

Whereabouts do you go camping..presumably the car gets an outing...or is it high packs and carrying everything?

There is a very nice campsite (as in not many facilities) near PN

Last time I went camping apart from at parents' house in Kent (which was for Isaac's enjoyment, as there was a perfectly nice bed or two inside we could have occupied instead) was in outer Mongolia.

OH camps regularly, half-way up Scottish mountains in January, that kind of thing, which he's welcome to.

Next weekend some of OH's school friends are having an LIR-style camp-in-our-garden party. OH is going, Kermie and I aren't, and Isaac has yet to decide.
My mother and her cat were very close and when she was pregnNt with me she had a litter from the cat at about the same time. Kittens came about six weeks after me.

Sister 1's best mate's dog got pregnant at about the same time I did. Her puppies had left home and moved on before I even had my one baby!

Sometimes the aforementioned trouser suit. Sometimes some trousers with a non-matching jacket. Sometimes a skirt with cardigan or non-matching jacket. Unfortunately I have grown out of most of my summer clothes and not got round to replacing them with my new size. :o:o:o:o

Don't blame you. The closest I got to that was taking an 11-month-old DD (already walking) away with LNE and 3-year-old DS in a caravan. I certainly wouldn't contemplate taking such a little one camping, and I don't do tents even now my kids are bigger.

This is probably a good time of year to buy sale-summer kit?

11 month olds who are walking sound much more lethal in some ways that nearly-3-month olds. At least if I put Kermie somewhere he stays there, however unhappy he is about it.

  • Kermie's been in a right grump most of today. He can think of lots of things he isn't happy about, and none which he is. I don't know if it's still the weather bothering him, or something else - and he's not communicating the problem very clearly.

I remember doing jury service myself. Don't worry, I'll take things to keep me occupied.

Will go shopping for clothes in a day or three.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Poor little Kermie. :(

    Poor you, too. :(

I'm flattered that you included me in that list. :) I have a mere 8 days and 8 and a bit hours left of being 44.

Hope all NP have got wills and have informed their executors where the will is.

And then you will be the same age as me....

No will here, no money or expensive items to leave to anyone!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Nothing really exciting to talk about happened today, me and youngest went on a nice long walk along the length of the prom (well he walked and I was pushed in the wheelchair). Lovely to start with as we had a calm few hours with the weather but a little chilly and blooming windy on the way back...all told, it took around 2 and a half hours.

I would love to do a meet up, alas, September and October is a complete nightmare plus I would be as much use as a chocolate teapot for doing any kind of garden or DIY work, it would be 10 minutes help, rest of the day not able to move...hopeless help really.

I also need to get my confidence up driving the distances again, I know it sounds like I am being a wuss but I have no idea if I can even cope with driving for a long time anymore, even driving to Yarmouth leaves me exhausted and that is only an hour and a half.

Bet no-one will copy our meal for tonight.....chicken dippers with wedges and hash browns for youngest, Bourbon beef brisket with hash browns for Josh, half of a small rump steak, a little of the bourbon beef brisket and a beef olive for James and the other half of the rump steak, a beef olive and half of a hash brown for me. Not exactly balanced or wonderfully great nutrionally but no cash for food shopping until tomorrow and it was a case of eat what we had stashed in the freezer....it went down well though, the boys call it mish mash dinner.

For lunch, the two younger boys and myself had pilchards in tomato on toast, one slice for me, two for them.

Hope all goes well at the inquest Lydia. Am looking forward to seeing your shiny new mortgage free badge.

Re the Ikea meet up, I don't have a weekend free until Oct, but we could do then if you are up for it. Perhaps as it is round the corner, we could double up with a visit to Bletchley Park if weather is nice.

Even if you don't have anything to leave, you ought to have a will, if only to detail guardianship of any of the boys who are still under age. Saves hassle!
    Must update my will..
