Thanks!
Last year I had pneumonia, and in hospital they ultrasounded my kidneys and liver an such and they saw quite a lot of blub hanging around there - lifestyle they said.
I've been on the chubby side since my late 30's, but now it was getting out of hand.
Thanks!
- no more fizzy drinks
- much smaller portions, especially at dinner time
- less often pork, more often fish or chicken
- no more crisps
- longer doggy walks
that's it really..
I'd like to maintain that, or even lose a bit more. I think I need motivating somehow though, as I snack too often.lostinrates wrote: »
Re crisps...aren't kettle crips unpleasantly greasy?
I tend to go for McCoys a lot.:oIt's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

You can't argue with that! :rotfl:
We like boats. Even boring boats like the ferry to Calais. We often go on the outdoor deck just to have a look at the waves, the seagulls, other boats...0 -

Of course you do, because they are 'man' crisps.0 -

In the same situation, I go on the outside deck so I can vomit repeatedly over the side until the ferry docks at the other end.
I don't get sea sick on sailing boats, and I think it is really the pervading diesel / fuel oil smell through the ship that is mostly responsible. My evidence for that is that I can't drive a petrol go kart without getting horrid motion sickness but an electric one is fine.0 -

So, your knee has really improved then?No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
So, your knee has really improved then?
Yep although it is still stiff to some extent. I was doing 40+ mins on the bike within 3 weeks of the op but getting quite a lot of feedback from the knee but now there is very little pain unless I kneel down which is not much fun. I started running again on Monday which was slightly unpleasant but only because I haven't done it since January. Hopefully I can stop doing the ridiculous exercise regimen the physio has put me on soon.0 -

It was my idea - as a novelty thing to do with my sibling - to visit a particular pub, so, we might as well take the ferry service. Not recommended.
This boat, I believe http://www.simplonpc.co.uk/Fal_Newman/AvonBelleII-JB-07_b.jpg
To this pub - which hasn't been the same since posh people bought it from locals ... and gentrified it http://www.westbriton.co.uk/Smugglers-Cottage-tearoom-fan-slams-closure/story-19626309-detail/story.html
That was the worst thing about cross channel ferries for me - knowing you had to come back on it. We used to go from Poole to Caen on the way to camping in France - which from memory is about a six hour crossing. I could never really enjoy the holiday because the whole time all I could think of was having to endure the return crossing.0 -
DH loves the ferry with a buffet.
We went once with my parents and they got the giggles, he had a mountain of food with cray fish arranged all around it.
It looked like a plate from some sort of elaborate feast.
He went up at least twice more. He loves buffets.0 -
I've been cleaning. I'm now involved in a stand off situation with a massive spider. Doozer needs to get home now.
I'm not exactly afraid of it as long as he stays where he is, but he's so big that hoovering him up would almost certainly feel like murder.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Buffets, carveries, all you can eat - what's not to like?
I was so pleased when the breakfast we had the other week was "go back as many times as you want" as so many carveries are a "one shot only" approach.0
