We don't take novice sailors out unless it's really nice weather with just a gentle breeze so boat doesn't heel over too much, in which case no need to lean out over the side...
Glad to hear it .... chundering on a first voyage isn't the way to be impressed by the fact somebody's got a boat .... I can sit by the water's edge in my folding chair without being sick :)

I've never been in/on (?) a boat. I'd not be too happy to be on a lot as they look flimsy and unsafe. My idea of going on a boat is to sit on a comfy chair and be handed a drink .... not to lean out, or duck, or anything.

    :)

What's the worst that can happen? You fall in and get wet. That doesn't really matter.

There's nothing half as much fun as messing around in boats.

No, the worst thing that can happen is it's boring, windy, sun's burning me, boat's wobbling, there's nothing to eat/drink and the boat owner's going on and on and on and on about this, that, the other and some bit of old rope ....... and I can see a Wetherspoons on the shoreline and know they're serving lunch, but can't reach it from where I am :) ... and I have to duck every 4 minutes.

That's the worst (reality) of it.

How many coats of paint to get a turquoise wall white?

Two coats of high opacity vinyl matt and its still not quite there. Grrr!
Recall my mother watering white paint down years ago (back in the day mse style!).
My bedroom was a very light/pale blue.
After 7 coats she started regretting the watering down of the paint...

At the risk of sounding repetitious, I'm still really bloody tired.

I slept in until gone 7am this morning. Then I slept for 40 minutes at lunchtime and I slept on the bus on the way home. Now it's 9:10pm and I'm zonked again. Aaargh!
The important question, is are you as tired as you were 1 or 2 weeks ago? I suspect the answer to that is no.

In another 2 weeks, you'll find you have more energy. Tiredness may still appear on the occasional day.

You'll still be a grumpy beggar though.;)

It's not boring round here! We sail along the edge of the beach at Abersoch and gawp at the Rich Peoples houses that have steps down to the beach. Or sail to Llanbedrog and look at the old quarries (after we've sailed past the Rich People's chalets on The Warren). Option there to anchor and row ashore to eat. Or we sail round the St Tudwal's Islands and look at the seals. Or sail round to Porth Ceriad and row ashore with a picnic. We've landed on the Islands before now, the hermit island anyway, though don't suppose you're really allowed to - Carla Lane owns it. And Bear Grylls owns the other one, the lighthouse island.

Plus if go for a sail there's the option to eat at the SCYC after getting ashore on the launch (moorings just offshore from the club). We like to have food available on the boat too - OH makes a rich fruit cake to bring down here in the summer so there's something sustaining for the crew and any guests to feast on if we get becalmed. ;) Or just get a bit peckish. :rotfl: Plus crisps of course! :j

Sorry to hear that Gen. But it's early days yet from what your oncologist said - wasn't it 2-3 months for the tiredness to get significantly better? Just try to take things as easy as possible, and rest up whenever you can. Believe me, I know how frustrating it is to not be able to do very much. :o At least you know that eventually the knackeredness will pass. Hugs and Vibes! :)

Oh very well done Wheezy! I've stopped the crisps too - well, maybe a packet at Christmas and sometimes one on summer hols. The fizzy drink is harder as G&T is my tipple of choice, and don't drink diet stuff as has aspartame in it. We're doing the more fish and chicken too, pork maybe every couple of months as a treat - I just love the crackling. :o And oily fish too, for the high cholesterol. Not losing weight though, might do if I was able to walk further than a few steps!

I think fever tree do a light light tonic is aspartame free - it is expensive though, relative to bog standard tonic.

Bobbling around round the edges, gawping at rich people's houses and landing on random/isolated (and even private) beaches.... and eating crisps is FULL of WIN!

I just have no interest in going "out to sea" as any one bit of water round the boat for 1-2 miles is pretty much the same as any other bit of water round the boat for 1-2 miles.

I want to kayak/SUP as a way of reaching inaccessible bits and bobs.... and doing some bobbling.

Day off today. I just did 2 hours on the exercise bike which by my reckoning means I can now eat a whole box of mars ice creams.
