The easiest way to make the ariel point in the right direction is to look which way the neighbours' face. The long bit of the ariel needs to point in the right direction.

I suggest I am a contender for board lush.

Pastures, I am 90% sure that the loop is the main aerial and if you look straight through it you should be looking at the transmitter.

If you check your postcode on one of those links it should give you an idea of signal strength.

Do you get a better signal upstairs?

Umm, stupid question - you retuned your free view box when you moved house? Have you tried that with it plugged into the apparently non functioning TV aerial socket?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I took the kids to our local 'village fete' called Moocooboola (it's the local Aboriginal word meaning 'where 2 rivers meet').

The Girl is quite the daredevil these days:

That's her hat you can see: she's already hit the mat. She got a big round of applause as one of the younger kids to do this :)

We had a lovely day actually. I gave the Generlissimos $20 each to spend. The Girl basically blew the lot. The Boy is very proud that he has $17 left. He does psychology experiments and has earned $30 doing them over the past week too so he now has enough for the next Lego set he wants.

We went and patted a calf (which tried to eat my back pocket) and the kids (Generalissimos) fed the kids (baby goats). I met the head of the Sydney cycling charity which was pretty interesting then the Generalissimos went on the rides (dodgems, little cars, chuck the ball at the clowns and assorted bouncy castles).

We played rugby and soccer and netball and had a chat with the wishing tree. The Girl went window shopping for dolls and snapped one of the arms off (good reason not to buy one). We messed about at the hat stall doing cowboy impressions and watched the dodgy 70s & 80s covers band for about 2 minutes until we got bored. We drank acid-pink fizzy drink and ate candy floss and super-sour candy strips.

Finally when the laughs turned to tears Daddy pulled out the 'overtired' card and we got the bus home (the Generalissimos love traveling by any means other than a car).

Thanks. It was pure luck as sometimes the camera on my phone has a lot of lag. This was one of those times!

Pastures, I have the same aerial for one of my bedroom tv's. Observations..

    Works better upstairs.
If it can't be upstairs, then near a south facing window.
The gain knob needs to be turned to maximum the whole time.
You can t position it to get all channels in the same position, so I know, for example, that if I want BBC, Dave, sky news, then I have to turn it a different way to if I want ITV. Channel 4 and all of its sub channels I can't get at all, or C5. That's even though I live on top of a hill.

    Board lush...

Kiwis breeder warned me all kiwis she's known will drink if they can so never to leave glasses unattended or within reach. Kiwis can hop on to kitchen tables.

Obviously we never let him have alcohol, but he does seem very interested by the smell.

Maybe he would be board lush given the chance.
