Prob down to EU rules about you can't farm campers and animals in the same field? ;):)

Might be due to location/number of animals/number of campers.... and, in some bizarre way, it might be the perceived problem of tracking down last week's campers and containing/isolating this week's campers, if the animals got mad cow disease/foot and mouth or something.

It's one thing to say to a farmer "Right, your animals... shut your gates for a month, nobody/nothing's coming or going"... entirely different to say that to 100 campers who booked into a tent for 2 nights.

No biscuits. Outrageous! Although I don't really think eating biscuits in a job interview is a great idea. More importantly there was no water either which didn't help given how hot it was outside.

I just sat in the chair closest to where I took the photo from, although I was left on my own in the room for 5 mins or so and in light of previous advice here to act like a banker was tempted to go right up the other end of the room and sit at the head of the table.

Meh, shame about lack of nibbles would have broken the ice very well. I'm positive you could have found something.

Did you like the vibe? Dh's latest exploration outside his office now strikes him as bizarre so he's getting less interested. I am not sure but I think some one who USED to post here a long while ago might have had a family connection there.

It's an impressive room. I'd sit at the rounded end of the table, as you want to sit at right angles to the guy interviewing you. I can't imagine that sitting at opposite sides of the table would be a good way of interviewing. What did you and he do?

I sat closest to the camera and he sat two seats down to the right. It still wasn't ideal but sort of just about worked. It would have been pretty awful with two interviewers, especially if one had sat either side in a pincer movement!

That's the bit where they're watching you through cameras, to see what sort of person you really are when you think you're not being watched :)

It was ok. I think I could do about 90% of the job in my sleep and the other 10% would be interesting. I think I might have to work much longer hours than I really do at the moment but that isn't a problem if they pay up. I just worry that I am going in a level below where I should really pitch myself. I am thinking of trying to engineer it as a secondment.

Maggie, can you see my little picture thing? Under my name?

Under that it has join date and stuff?

Under that is a picture of a little netball net. That's my badge. Its world shaking stuff. Honestly.

A netball net? I see a shopping trolley.

Would the NE band apply to any money received now though? Logically I would think not and isn't that the issue? Or do they just get added together whatever happens?

    The latter.

I would just add that it depends just exactly what stage LNE had reached in his NE-ness.

I suppose that they are proud of the room, but it might have been better to stick you in there to wait and be suitably impressed, then take you into somewhere cosier for a chat.
