Fwiw, I should say I am in a lot less regular neurological pain ATM.. The change in dosages and pills are definitely helping with that. I have some different symptoms, nothing like as irksome, just have to get used to them. But pain is nothing like it has been as a sustained thing. I wonder if the weather is helping too?

So glad you have less pain. I've found the hot weather difficult to cope with, and now it's gone cooler I'm too damn cold! <rolls eyes> Suspect was beginning to acclimatise to heat and suddenly tis gone. I think rheumy pain is helped by heat. So why not neuro? Hugs and hopes that pain stays better and improves.

I do have cover for getting too ill to be able to work, though.

Very wise. I hope you never need it - the b*stard insurance companies try not to pay out in a lot of cases. I was 44 when I got ill, but didn't have insurance - didn't earn enough to afford it, despite doing a skilled tech job. So I've been what Dear Dave calls a benefits scrounger ever since. I'm "retired" now, so feel very lucky I don't have to go through the WCA stuff.

Hm... I've been sipping via the non-numb part of my mouth. So nope. But it was very difficult to rinse out my mouth at the dentist...

I recommend a straw for use after dental work. It's only one side of mouth is dead, so other can be used for slurping up a drink afterwards. I've drank plenty of tea post fillings that way. Depending on the filling of course, some they say to not drink anything for 2 hours to allow it to fully set. I find I'm still often dribbly even then so straw is useful. Pastures note! ;) Useful to have straws in "just in case". Though goes without saying I hope you won't need to use them dear PN.

That's what I thought the position was with LNE, but I didn't want to say anything too explicit because it is quite private. I am 90% sure that you are eligible to inherit his £325k allowance. More than 90%, actually, but not 100%.

    Thanks for being so considerate.

My brother's a solicitor doing probate and IHT advice, so I can talk to him if I need to. It's not pressing ATM, though.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

The thing in the pot in the foreground of the photo looks like an olive tree to me.
Ah, took another look. On my (small) monitor, I could see the pot ... and hadn't realised that the foliage (covering some of the white chair) was also the tree :)

In fairness, there is quite a lot going on in that photo - including a lot of greenery. Not least growing out of the patio  Really need to get round to attacking it with weedkiller again.

There are lots of things we could give house room to "in case" ... that's how hoarders start... that's how clutter evolves.

    :)

I've enough "in case" clutter without adding straws.
