Check your diary before you start new work ... I've booked you into LIR's to sort out the bindweed :)

Well, somewhere it turned nippy. I'd noticed a "fresh grass" smell earlier and a bit later when I stood up I realised there'd been a little light drizzle! The patio slabs were wet in the middle, but not at the edges.

So, I've just popped all the way round Mon Mansion, closing the windows that were opened previously in the vague hope they'd bring a little light breeze.... and I also brought my comfy duvet down. Windows closed, room doors closed, duvet over me :)

I guess I need to start taking a peek at the boiler at some point - find out how that all works. When I moved in, I turned on the taps and got hot water, so not bothered to look at it as I've not needed to. It was checked/got a certificate as part of the conveyancing process, so it's working OK.

Having said that, it's 1 August dammit ..... won't actually need it for heating until late October really.

I've an issue with the front door - I think that's going to become a serious issue with draughts and I'll end up getting a "bloke that sorts out wooden stuff" in to rehang it .... have to see how that goes. First winters in a new house are always a time when you find out how cold/draughty a house is.

What, helping her grow it? I seem to live on a bindweed farm. I wasn't even aware of bindweed before moving in here!

Yours will come back by the way...we just pulled it out, to get rid of the mass of foliage, rather than killing it properly...

Yeah, I've popped out and pulled out some small handfuls this week.

You really do have to bite the bullet and poison it. This hot spell was the ideal time but, I was sleeping then cleaning. :D

Me too. Off to Vienna for a long weekend this morning. Mind you, Club Europe was only £7 per ticket (one way) extra so we shall be pretending to be posh on the way out, slumming it on the way back.
I am up, ready, all my stuff checked and packed - and OH is still slobbing around in his dressing gown watching TV. I like to arrive in plenty of time, he usually slides up almost at the last moment. Can you tell it bugs me?? Flight in 3.5 hours, luckily we live quite close to the airport..

Sounds great. Always wanted to see Vienna! Only been to Salzburg, and it was lovely enough!

Today I have mostly been to the dentist... one decayed wisdom tooth out, at least six fillings...

It's three hours and I still feel like a gopher but, on the other hand, at least my nose isn't numb any more.
Glad you got it sorted. Do you have to go again (I don't think they usually do more than two quadrants of the mouth at a time)?.

I'll bear that in mind. Never had a garden before that I had to know stuff about and care :)
Had a garden at the last place, but apart from cutting the grass 3x and having a bad go at pruning some trees/leaves as it was getting dark indoors, I left it to its own devices ... didn't know what to do, didn't have a shed, didn't care.
