Or slobby old clothes (I'm currently modelling a band t-shirt from the mid-late '90s and rolled up tesco value joggers) where it doesn't matter if they get attacked by bleach/ brambles etc etc :)

Are you telling me you haven't got a pinnie either?

I am shocked as I have an extensive pinnie collection. Even OH has one..he inherited it from his dad. Daughter has one..she hates pinnies..I insist on pinnies for cooks ..not to keep the clothes clean, but to keep the clothes away from the food.

What is a pinnie? I looked it up on urban dictionary but I'm not sure that's what you're talking about...

Pinafore - a tunic, you'll have seen office cleaners wearing them over their clothes .... or in 1950s adverts women wear them in the kitchen.

    Just a clothes protector.

Edit: You can get novelty ones, e.g. naked man/woman. Top tip: do NOT google for naked man pinafore ... it's NSFW ... and I don't know what a photo of a bottle up a man's bum has to do with housework at all!

I am not looking. I have been caught out that way before:eek:

It is a pinafore, an apron. In our house usually a full frontal cover not a half thing that goes around your waist. They can be overall like, but we do not have those, sort of a school dinner lady outfit.

I have a gardening pinnie and lots of kitchen/housework pinnies. They are also useful if you are inclined to drop your dinner down you. They may or may not have a pocket on the front Kangaroo style.

    Starting to feel very old.

I do actually have one now. It's a BBQ pinnie though. I just wear slob clothes most of the time so it doesn't matter. No one else here to care!

Which sport is best for you quiz: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-28062001

It chose lawn bowls for me :)
Followed by shooting and table tennis.

They seem to be suggesting lawn bowls for everyone - me too! (then middle-distance athletics  and then middle-distance cycling  ). Wonder if it's sponsored by the lawn bowling association :D

I might have to buy a load more joggers... for when I leave the house (incl. going to work).

I can't stop eating. Can't start writing either. If only I could work out how to swap those two activities round it'd all be fine.
    Bah.

Think I'll be setting my alarm early tomorrow.

Glad to hear you've made real progress tonight.

I have started my course and there are assignments to do. Have spent far too long researching in too much detail, which puts off the inevitably difficult task of deciding where to start the writing on #1. Aargh.

I have 2 pinnies - both vinyl covered, which date from before I left school. Great for eating tomato-based or curry dishes while sitting at the sofa with a risk of spillage down the front ... :o

Hope this weekend is OK for you, LIR, and that you can be kind to yourself by giving yourself the space to gain energy you need. :)

Pans - just pick up a couple of cheap ones ... you'll no doubt be able to use those in the future. Not sure if you have a Home Bargains there, but there's a very serviceable set of 3 for £7 at the moment (I've got my eye on them myself as my main/only saucepans). http://www.homebargains.co.uk/products/9106-stainless-steel-3-piece-saucepan-set.aspx

Frying pan, just need a small/cheap one - could be an excuse to try out those "new" style ceramic (white coated) ones that are everywhere these days and you always wonder if they're any good. Or even a random cast iron one, £6 at Argos at the moment (down from £15). http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/8616623.htm

Towels, two cheap ones from Asda/wherever - again, you'll find a use for them in the future if this type of event is repeated, or if you just want to go to the river swimming and not take one of your "best" towels.

this morning I had reflexology. Some mumbo jumbo talked at the end about what teh therapist found, but it was very relaxing and I fell asleep on the couch.

After that I took the nestlings to a wild bird hospital..they are doing well (they eat raw beef mince fed to them with tweezers..in case you ever find yourself with orphan swallows).

Called in ata pub for a cold drink (soft) and a coffee before going to the beach. At the beach I fell asleep for a while. OH cooked dinner - BBQ (again).

I am now considering going to bed in the next few minutes as I am tired. I have done nothing all day except nap and indulge myself...how does that work.
