You need to wear a pinnie when cleaning and cooking. I always wear pinnies. I am wearing one now.

    Have you got a pinnie?

Or slobby old clothes (I'm currently modelling a band t-shirt from the mid-late '90s and rolled up tesco value joggers) where it doesn't matter if they get attacked by bleach/ brambles etc etc :)

Somebody work-related that you've offered space to? Or old friend relocating? Or friend between houses?

I do hate that smug style of writing... when they say "You probably already have most of the ingredients on hand"....

Then go on to list them: "heavy cream, vanilla, powdered sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornstarch. "

Er ... no, no, no, no, no, no, yes (bizarrely).

    :)

I picked it for the pics. But the non-conventional use also seemed appropriate.

... somewhere for £200 a week (ridiculous), .... Not sure what I'd ask for ...

I am used to dafter prices.... £200/week sounded OK to me. So then I rightmove'd it for prices in your town.

Cheapest is a flatshare at an unbelievable £60/week including bills!! Most expensive is £127/week with en-suite and your own study room.

    Blimey. Cheap as chips :)

    Is the £200 a B&B?

Hard to pick a price... it's short-term, but the risks are low. They/you benefit from local company; they benefit from lifts to/from some of the time.

Ah, some are "gas lift". I guess I specifically have to find one that says that.

My s-i-l's gas lift failed. Not good when you have an urgent need for something stored under the bed. She'd go back to draws now given a choice. It wasn't a cheapie bed either.

OK - I give up. I've searched and searched online and can't find the reference.

Nikks, PM me if I can help over weekend or next week. Obvs we all have google scholar, but I have some additional tools at work that I may be able to check with. Haven't had a play with them yet so not sure what they can and cannot find, but happy to have a go.

You had me going there. I thought they were going to list the ingredients of a panda and platypus panini.

Maybe I should just buy a bed then .... that style are pricier and, knowing my luck, I'd get a duff one .... so just a bog standard bed will do..... very MSE :)
Then I'll need a valance, to hide the drawers... I guess.

    I'll look at some pictures.

    I want a bed, not a design statement :)

The other advantages I saw in the Ottomans were that I might push the bed against a wall - I only get out one side after all.... and drawers limit the size/shape of things you can squeeze in, whereas a whole base of bed storage space is more flexible for random items.

In-of-the-deed, as DS says. We have loads of made-up words in our family. Some of them make sense; some don't.

    We do too :)

Sounds like a bargain! You need to think whether you're supplying sheets/towels too - and household stuff (plates/saucepans etc) because if they're coming for a short while it might be a pain in the butt to have to lug those with them.

I'd definitely take up the offer of staying with a member of staff, with some lifts, close to town. It takes the "edge" off the worry of where you'll be ending up and what to do with your spare time apart from sitting on the bed watching telly alone.
