Does it matter about the recognition? You did it and you know you did, you don't need external validation.
    I think....

I trust you even if you are not (yet) a doctor. I do agree though that having gone 98% of the way you might as well finish.

But I'm guessing that your trust or otherwise in me has little to do with my academic background?

I'd also dispute the figure of 98 % :p Though I'd be very glad if it was true!

Yep. He sounds all squishy and scrumptious. Might have to make polite conversation with his mum though in order to get close.:)

Only briefly. Then I'd make you tea.

One of the benefits of being an adult ..you get to sort your own mess out.

Fair few men seem to see one of the benefits of marriage as being that the wife sorts it out.

Doozer, if I were you'd I've be hacked off about the charger thing, too. Perhaps you need to label them with names and the person whose name is on the label takes responsibility for it?

I took Isaac to Charterhouse today - they had a Museum of London organised event for children, showing them how archaeologists works, what they do, how they do it. Sounded right up his street, so I booked him a ticket (free) and he loved it.

They also had an exhibition of finds from the Crossrail dig in Charterhouse Square, including one of the skeletons from the Black Death burial ground. We were told that the man had been about 5 ft 9 inches when he died, definitely male, probably about mid 40s in age, and ate a relatively meaty diet. He had done lots of lifting and lugging in his life, and broken his right arm long before he died, as it had healed completely.

In the case of the dig for children, they had 12 children and 4 archaeologists from the Museum of London, and in the Square, lots of experts hanging around ready to be charming and helpful. They are fantastic, the Museum of London - so much knowledge, and so friendly with it, and willing to share.

I also had an interesting chat to the Vicar of Charterhouse in his Chapel while Isaac was doing the dig, he was also a charming, interesting man.

So altogether a fascinating day, and entirely free, how MSE is that? We walked there and back, and took a bottle of water with us, so didn't spend so much as a ha'penny while we were out.

Are you telling me you haven't got a pinnie either?

I am shocked as I have an extensive pinnie collection. Even OH has one..he inherited it from his dad. Daughter has one..she hates pinnies..I insist on pinnies for cooks ..not to keep the clothes clean, but to keep the clothes away from the food.

I grew up with an automatic cooking-therefore-don-apron culture, so still do it now. And Isaac does, too, as he's been exposed to my mother's cooking-for-children programme as well - so if we start to cook something (like gingerbread biscuits, which we did last weekend) he automatically dons his apron and washes his hands.
I do hate that smug style of writing... when they say "You probably already have most of the ingredients on hand"....

Then go on to list them: "heavy cream, vanilla, powdered sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and cornstarch. "

Er ... no, no, no, no, no, no, yes (bizarrely).

    :)

Here - no, yes, yes (I'm assuming powdered sugar is icing sugar), yes, yes, no. Lacking heavy cream (whatever that is, but we have no cream, so I'm safe on a "no") and cornstarch.

I'm not worried either way really. To get any man (other than my dad) over the threshold would be an achievement.

I can lend you a couple of young males, if that helps? I'll shove them over the doorstep, disappear sharpish, and come back later?

Yeah, I'd probably amend the lettering.

    Let's start with
Plan A: Widen my collection of cardigans and get some cats...

I'd like to do that, the cats part, anyway. But OH isn't remotely keen, sadly.

But hopefully it sounded super-intellingent? Right?!;)

Sounds incredibly intelligent to me, super-intelligent, in fact. But also meaningless lol.

Thanks for everyone's opinions....haven't been able to reply before now as rushing around like mad.

No real rain here, a few spots on the windows but nothing to write home about or even get wet in.

Mum wears an apron, I don't.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

If you want to be credible in the specific field...you need the recognition in peer reviewed journals/text books and other reference.

It is valuable...and some folk are not as honest in acknowledging the work of others as they should be, so that they give the impression they did more original work than they did. Ergo...the impression they are cleverer than they are in order to accrue advantage.

Is there anything that one can do about it? Can someone force a publication to include their name on a paper if they had significant input into it?
