Pointless rant alert. Feel free to ignore. I'm feeling disproportionate rage. I hate beaurocracy so much, I hate writing letters, receiving letters and I despise cheques.

Sent form to Land Registry for something they don't do online, with a cheque. Two weeks later, they have cashed cheque and sent me a letter saying they've cancelled my request because I didn't write which flat number and will send me a refund cheque.

The flat number is irrelevant because all the leases (which I want) are identical. Instead o a phonecall or an email to ask me, they write two letters, send me a cheque, I then have to make a phonecall where I'm accused of shouting (please). The process has to start again. I've now phoned solicitor to get it electronically, because they are special. If i want it electronically, I have to set up an account using a paper form.

I've also discovered that DD has a transition afternoon at her new school, today, in addition to the full day next week. We both have a meeting this afternoon. I have the Letter about next week, but no Letter about today. "It was sent" is just useless.

I hate post. Waste of paper, waste of money, waste of time.

Btw, obviously I woke up this morning. The big exhaustion seemed to recede at 4:20 this morning. Hopefully I'm awake for a while now. I'll see how today goes before counting any chickens though.

    Yay! :T
Hope you carry on feeling good.

I have Monday's blood results back. I am not anaemic. :)

OH and I both have Toshiba laptops and are happy with the quality.

Mine is Dell and I'm very happy with it too.

Do any of the NP have recommendations for cordless landline phones for use in a house with thick walls?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

    Oh DG. :(

So sorry to hear everything is being so annoying. What time is the transition afternoon? I am in a meeting in Gloucester until 12:00 and am not sure how long it would take me to drive to where you are, but if you get desperate and the timing would work then I could come and ferry her to it.

No, but I'd read with interest. We have four of these

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/BT-Elements-Weatherproof-Telephones-Twin/dp/B00169GNXW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1404293701&sr=8-2&keywords=long+range+phone

And they don't even reach into the kitchen properly. And not into the garden apart from front garden in front of house. Very, very annoying.

No. I got my first cordless as a combined birthday/Xmas present from a friend at the end of 2000, it was a "two handset" one, which was handy as I could have one upstairs and one downstairs.

Moving in here, I've still got that original stuff, but rather than trying to find which box it's in I just went to a 2nd hand shop and bought a random new handset ... and a battery.

Once I've moved I'll discover my old handset pair and will check if that still works and, if so, will then use that one.

    So, can't help .....

I hope doozergirl the younger's school isn't going to be as disorganised as sue's sons' school:(

Lydia, I spent about £20 on two home handsets (one downstairs, one in the office) for the home line about 7 years ago.

My mobile doesn't like the house, yet is fine when I'm sat next to a window, usually in the home office, so probably a sign of how thick the walls are (we're in a Victorian house, so the internal walls are brick rather than plaster.)
