    As a footnote; I suspect the fact that the t&c ARE less forgiving WILL mean more lose their cashbacks simply because they lack discipline and understanding. Since the deals are in fact only marginally better than before and no-where near as good as their competitors I would like to think that this will achieve their objective without resorting to even lower means. As you say - time will tell! I WOULD suggest that anyone in the future who misses out because of Roral Mail a) complain to Royal Mail AND place what happened on here. That way if there's a pattern a judge may be persuaded to give complainants the benefit of the doubt should it come to that!

    I've just had an email saying my new phone contract (price match) will be despatched shortly after a delay. I have been sent the link for the cashback claim forms.
    Just a query;
    Transaction Number, what EXACTLY is this, does this come with the phone??
    Cashback/Gift Claimed, do I put in £540/12 = £108 or just £108??

    I'm now comfortable regarding what bill to send back.
    A long way off yet, but I want to be clear in my head.

    Thanks,

    Lynsey

    I cant see what all the fuss is about just follow the conditions as stated. Make sure you keep to the timetable. I always send the cashback claim as soon as I recieve the bill (via registerd mail) that way you have 30 days to sort out any problems. Always keep a copy of your bill and if you have not heard from them after 5 days chase them up and confirm receipt. If they say they have not recieved then send another asnd repeat the process (I have never had to do this so far!) or if possible fax there and then. I have been having cashback deals for over 3 years and had no problems other than actually getting my money out of mobileshop this year so I am moving to E2Save and having the same sort of deal as you.

    Go for it and ignore the doom and gloom merchants!!

    If you follow the conditions as stated you will see that your suggested remedy for a missing claim wouldn't work:

    Send us the claim form and original monthly bill

    With these new conditions they won't accept copies - if the claim is not received they now say they will deem it "unclaimed" - and once you have an unclaimed cashback ALL others are lost too.

    Where an item goes missing in the post and you haven't got our valid recorded delivery signature, then the item will be regarded unclaimed.

    where a valid claim has not been received by us within one calendar month of the required bill, which is the closing date for your claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the Cash Back offered. Cash back files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases.

    I used to send my other claims in past by recorded delivery, but it was never signed for,so now i send special delivery and it shows a stamped proof of delivery, would this be acceptable??

    It should be OK.

    Annoying because it is so much more expensive.

    And because they say if it does get lost in the post the claim will fail, then to be absolutely safe you ought to insure against consequential loss - and each time insure for the full amount remaining to be paid via cashback, as should any claim get lost in the post, then they would "close their files" and not pay out on any future claims.
