ITV Comps Questions

I was surprised to find that the general ITV terms give no guidance and neither do many of the T&C for each comp. Some ITV comps use the wording:send your entry on a postcard or on or within an envelope to the address as specified
... so within an envelope appears to be fine.
PS. No multiple entries within one envelope0 -
Last time I looked ITV and channel 5 allow within an envelope while channel 4 do not and others will vary as well (If your postal address is not asked for then don't give it), always worth checking the T&C's.
Channel 5Entries should be sent either on a postcard, or on/in a sealed envelope
Channel 4on a stamped postcard or back of a sealed envelope to

Ah ok thank you. I'll just envelope for itv and channel 5 then. With these now being the preferred route the less time phone number is just on the back of a postcard the better!0

Amazon do them. They sell 48 for £1.20...
Or can't you just make your own out of normal card?0 -
What about marketing? Are you automatically opted out if you submit postal entry?0

The access to a telephone number on a postcard is initially limited to the few who come into physical contact with it.
If you send an e-mail or submit an on-line entry form your information has the potential to be accessed from anywhere in the worldwide with internet access.0 -

Wasn't it someone on here who was telephoned by a strange man who had bought a picture postcard she had used to enter a competiton? He had bought the postcard from a market stall I think. Until then I'd assumed that all postcards with your details on were destroyed after the draw.
ETA Wasn't here. It was Loquax0 -
Decided to enquire to RDF Television, who make the show, about the competitions when the new series starts next month & got the following reply;
"Thanks for getting in touch with the team.
We no longer offer online entry for competitions featured in Dickinson’s Real Deal.
Nonetheless we hope you continue to enjoy watching the show."

Thanks for this. I assumed that all post card entries are entered onto the database manually as that is how they usually pick the winner?0
