I've downloaded the c25k app. Started it last night (just in my livingroom, wouldn't want to subject the neighbours to my running skills), was really enjoying it then OH appeared home early and I was a bit embarrassed to finish it.

Definitely going to keep it up. I want to be fitter and lose some of my baby weight.

I want to aim to run a 5k next year :)

Done day one of week two now but struggled as I've been up since 5 with the kids.

Awesome guys :-) I am going out tomorrow no excuses...my OH is off tomorrow so temptation to skip another day is their but if I start monday I can stick my my M W F days, plus car is back up and running so he won't be getting up earlier for work.

As tempting as it is to start where I left off I will probably just start again.. :(

I think ill start this properly tomorrow. I did go for a 3 mile walk round the local country park with the kiddies earlier so I did do some exercise.

I like the idea of cycling but I would need to buy a bike. Don't really have funds for that just now. My little boy has just learned to ride with no stabilisers so it would be nice to go cycling with him though. Hmm.

Hi everyone, I started the nhs couch to 5k a few weeks ago, some weeks I don't make it to gym with work shifts!! I couldn't run for 30 seconds in the beginning and I'm just on week 5 now and running for 5 mins twice with 90 sec walk between!!
I really didn't think I'd ever be able to do it lol

Day 1 complete. Was knackered by the end which shows how bad my fitness levels are but I did enjoy it.

Was going to go for a walk around town but its dull, overcast and windy, not fair to drag the kiddies out in that.
  • I've downloaded the C25K app too - start tomorrow for Operation Beach Bod (10 weeks til holibobs). I hate running, absolutely despise it so here's hoping this will change my mind - although I don't have any music on my phone and not sure I want to be alone, running with my own thoughts (stop now, stop at the corner, buy a pie, etc).

So 3 days doing this app, 3 days doing 30 Day Shred and a rest day. I also have a 14 day pass for my local leisure centre which I'll use to do my running and and go swimming.

Wish me luck and well done to everyone who is giving it a damn good try!

If you don't have any of your own music download the NHS C25K podcast. It has music and "inspirational" and "motivating" talk.

In fact I would recommend starting with this as it gives advice on pacing etc.
  • Thank you, I'll do just that for today's session.

    Hi all,

I am thinking of starting this again. I get married in 3 months {and 2 days but who's counting!?} and would like to look, and feel, my best. I would also like to do this for anxiety and stress relief.

Last time I went jogging I felt great, overdid it and nearly passed out and scared myself off it!

There's also mention of work mates doing total warrior next year, which is either a 10k or 10m course and also obstacles. I'd love to do it, but need to get my fitness up first!

I may dip in and out of this thread, but I will try and stay motivated, which is most definitely my downfall...
