Can I just say Croxteth Hall is not a great idea as the public are all in the park at the same time, plus the ice cream van! Also I'm afraid I wouldn't touch the Devonshire with a barge pole. Both my sister and I had our receptions at the Alicia, don't know about an actual ceremony, but it was really nice?
How about Formby hall golf club ( don't know if they do actual weddings?)

All i'll say is we have the same taste.

Not keen on Formby Hal, nothing special. Been to a do there. It was ok but would prefer something with a little more omph!

mmmmm, you see this gets me thinking. If Walton Hall was so nice to get married in, why didn't they have the reception there too? Had brochures for the Arley but binned them as too expensive.

I've even discussed this with my h2b & sil to say we should buy our own beautiful building, do it up (h2b is an architect) and make somewhere reasonably priced and really nice inside to suit every budget

Manchester town hall is lovely, but the bar is stupidly expensive.

I Want To Save - I love it. Prices are amazingly cheap compared to a lot of places I've seen.

    I'm getting excited too.

What about the Palm House in Sefton Park? I saw them setting up a wedding there and it looked gorgeous http://www.palmhouse.org.uk/functions.htm

The Alicia is very nice, my friend had his reception there

We got married at Ferrari's Country House in Chipping.

Was really reasonable then - not sure now. But the grounds and banqueting room were beautiful.
My sister got married at Bartle Hall

Which is another one which was decently priced and gorgeous.

Both venues are really well run and organised and I would recommend either.

I loved the Palm House. The only thing is, is that you can't hire it all day and all night - I think the longest is 5pm - 12pm! Absolutely bonkers.

As we are having a civil, breakfast & evening do, it wouldn't be long enough for us to fit it all in. If my memory serves me right we could hire it for the morning then again the above time slot but that would mean a huge gap in the middle of the day when people would have to vacate the house and then come back at 5pm.
