good luck with the gym jockettuk :T and the weight loss
Well all this talk about books I think I might have to go out and get some more as my last choices were not very good and are lying around catching dust
Glad to see you back posting csarina
DD is at dancing tonight so we are having a quick dinner in a few minutes ( when I get off here ) and then I will run her to dance class. Nothing planned for tonight so will try to do a bit of excercise  this bikini diet is really hard but will be worth it in a few weeks - I hope:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Hi Chums just got back from East Grinstead. DD's appointment was 1.50 we got there at 1.15 and saw the Doctor at 3.40 and was out again by 3.50. DD has to have her mole removed on the 16th August at E/Grinstead hospital.Luckily she is first on the list and it will be done under a local, though the way the appointments went today it could be lunchtime before its done .
She will be there a week after my mastectomy, and she is fretting already about being 40 odd miles away for half a day. I told her not to be so daft I will have one of my sis-in-laws staying with me for a little while so I can't get up to any mischief.;) The M25 was it's usual nose to tail all the way home and I feel rather exhausted now.
I have managed to get tickets for the Harry potter movie for 2 of my grandchildren tomorrow night so they will be happy bunnies .I hope I can stay awake for it.
I absolutely love Jodi Picault books, and if you email her and teel her how much you enjoy them she usually get an email sent in return. When I was in the U.S. in April I brought back five of her books that I had trouble locating here.I love the book shops in America I lugged at least a dozen or so home with me from Barnes & Noble in Washington.
I agree that 'My Sisters Keeper' is probably one of her best ones .
Well I'm off to have some supper and a large G&T after my busy day, have a good evening everyone:D0 -

Hi all
Hope everyone's day has gone well.
Hester - I see you are from Berkshire - where are you ? we are in Reading.
catowen - I have read The Time Travellers Wife and thought it was uttery amazing!!! Leant it to a friend who hasn;t given it back yet grr as I could easily read it again.
mioliere - thanks for the welcomeand sorry but I laughed at the bit about Kathy's baby !! Last week OH and I had a very "mature" row at 11pm as I was putting laundry away and woke him up (oops). Long story short I got huffy and threw the basket at the floor, he stuffed it back in, marched past me and threw it over the bannister
and woke up DS. Nice one. When I said look I want to get it done tonight , he said "can't you just do it tomorrow. You aren't working any more so you have nothing else to do tomorrow"  I am giving FLYing a go, and I am going out tonight :T to a friend's for tea. Although eaarlier OH had forgotten, asked me "are you cokking", I said "No, going out" he said "oh so you're not cooking ? Great!" Cheeky sod, he is so tactless. Grrrr.
Well I didn;t mean to rant at all as we have had a great day. Started the FLY lady thing and got loads done this morning while kids at preschool. Then went to Sports Day which was brill, both kids thoroughly enjoyed it (unlike last year when DS threw up with nerves - bless. Then OH came out after sports day with us for lunch which was lovely. Then I got home and kids played beautifully for an hour (!) whikst I did loads of housework. We then went round to friends for an hour and then came back and did some cutting and sticking before tea.
Tea went wel, OH did some xbox time with DS and has just put him to bed, and as I said I am off out in 10 mins :j :T
See you all tomorrow

Had a totally C**P time with MiL today.
She decided i had been too long in a changing room so she threw the curtains open... I was half dressed at the time. She has also taken to pushing me out of 'her' way in shops, which i find unsettling. It seems worse when OM is not around.
She is 74 and i am concerned that her 'forgetfulness' is a bit more serious. Any advice?I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
I forgot earlier I went to Mr T's yesterday to do some shopiing, they were selling meat cheap, I bought a 3 1/2lb piece of beef for Christmas dinner, for under £5, 2lb loin of pork for £3.45 which will do at least 4 roast dinners and 2 lbs of minced steak for £1.53. Spent more than I should have but have stuff in the freezer..........also bought 12 links of cumberland sausage for £2.00. my total shop came to £24.00, so I am still in on this month housekeeping thanks to the allotment.............Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

Dia Dhibh!
Had a lovely day to-day, had arranged to meet a friend for coffee this morning and discovered that there is now a farmers' market outside where we were meeting...new and I didn't know anything about it. Lovely fresh fish...so I had a kilo of clams and 6 fresh sardines. When I got home I realised that there were only OH and me for dinner so I just did the clams with spaghetti.....delicious!! I will grill the sardines for to-morrow and consider that I am really somewhere in Italy...can do nothing about the Med and weather, unfortunately.
Welcome JillD...Welcome, I can sympathise with being 30weeks pregnant...long time ago but you don't forget. Men are like small children, you spell everything out and then they get the message...you are being a little unreasonable expecting your OH to do anything in the evening...he has been working hard all day don't you know(??!) I don't know why I am saying this as I don't see how you can, but get a little relaxation into your routine if possible..even 10 mins with feet up and eyes closed can help and if you don't get to put the clothes away to-day, let it go, you can really. End of old bat's lecture!
Hugs to all in need and a good night's sleep to JackieO, I love driving but find bumper to bumper traffic very hard to take. I am sure that DD will be fine.
Seem tired now myself..maybe something to do with the couple of glasses of wine I had with my dinner!
Sweet dreams to all,

Csarina - SO glad someone read it as getting married in the shop too! I did think that people can be strange....until I realised ! :rotfl:
JillD - sympathies about the little spat, although images of flying laundry can be quite funny! I thought my OH didn't realise what was involved, so printed off a list and left it around, asking him to help me with part of it on the weekend. He did, and he hasn't been iffy about the list since! Must admit though that he has to leave for work at 5am to drive 2 hrs to Reading (!!) so I may not be puttin stuff away quite that late
rchddap1 - its not JUST a shared ownership!!!!! It's your house and it's well worth trying for and getting. Congrats that it's going ahead! Cross fingers it all completes fine.
sharon59 I'm with your husband - I love Xmas too, well the decorating for it. We don't have any family in this country to buy pressies for so have to shop on the internet or the postage outweighs the cost of the items. That really takes the fun out of it, but at least I avoid commercial Xmas. But only yesterday (having decided summer was a bust) I did wonder how the landing Xmas tree would look against the new paint colour that I'm not sure I like! Roll on sparkles and spangles
Well I've had a day full of cold and chicken soup worked for just a little time. OH suddenly sounds human again - exactly one week from when he went down with this bug. That implies I'm due to be human again NEXT MONDAY
Took PsychoKitty to play in the garden earlier. At 9 weeks it's all fun for him but Beeping great big Chinook helicopter decided to fly over the town, and directly over the garden! This NEVER happens! Poor little guy freaked out! Got him calmed down, played a while, then realised I should walk down pathway back to house (garden apart from house) to fill watering can for plants. Did this once ok, PK happy playing with water sinking into soil. Was back at house filling 2nd can when neighbour gardeners arrived. I thought it was just neighbour. BIG BIG MOWER and BIG BIG STRIMMER noise and human running full pelt back to garden to try to find PsychoKitty!   I couldn't even be heard yelling over the industrial tools!   Poor little guy scrabbled up a big big fence (highest he's climbed been so far) deep into a box hedge over the fence. Took me ages to pry apart Box to get him out and he was so so so freaked.
And wouldn't you know it.... they were only there for 5 minutes (garden small, owner bleeping lazy, owners big strapping teenagers bleeping lazy or they could do the lawn).
And to cap it all, I only said to OH yesterday that I should look out 5 yr insurance on Dyson since hoover hose is cracking. Looked it out today and .... it ran out yesterday. Sob sob sob
Off to have dinner. PK happily sleeping as if nothing happened. Human still freaked!
Luxor4T - anyone else noticed the forgetfulness? Dr's, health visitors, other visitors? Any other symptoms (e.g. not quite as well dressed, maintained etc as before) Sorry if this has been asked already but do you know if she's eating regularly? This has awful reminders of the way my Dad started to go. He'd deny he smelt horrible ... and he'd wet his pants. The doctor refused to say that he had anything mentally wrong with him...(Oh don't get me started)0 -
Evening all
Cat, I thought The Timetravellers wife was brill, it made my cry at one part & I'm not much of a one for tears.
JillD we're in Reading too, Newbury side.
We had an exciting day at school today, first we had an intruder with a knife, it seems one of our pupils got drunk a couple of evenings ago & mouthed off at the wrong person!
At the same time a staff member was rushed off to hospital in an ambulance, we think he's on the mend now.
Later I got an irate phone call from someone who was due to play badminton at our school & couldn't, because the person organising it was the one taken off in the ambulance.
She started shouting at me, complaining the she was now going to have to make 20 phone calls! I told her next time some was going to have a heart attack I'd ring her first to make sure it wasn't going to inconveience her, so now she going to make a formal complaint about me, lol. DILLIGAF?
The good news is that I have an interview tomorrow about the summer job & it look promising.
The bad news is, one of my lodgers is now two weeks behind with her rent & the new lodger due in Sept has now changed her mind, mind you, maybe that is good news, if she's as unreliable as the rest I paying rent I may be better off without her.
Hugs to all especially PP & Csarina
Hester
