Morning everyone! Not been around much recently, but have been reading what you're up to.
Queenie - DD is also reading Jodi Picoult. She heard her talking to James Naughtie on the radio, so got the book they were discussing from the libtrary. I'm now ordering the rest for her, one by one. Which is your favourite?
Kyle - glad to hear they LO is feeling better.
It's raining here, too. Typical - both of my w*** days were glorious. We've planned a big barbeque tomorrow, so DH and I are looking into Plan B!
Off meeting a friend today, so looking forward to that.

Need to take the kids to school in a minute hopefuly I'll not get ran over by a bloke on a push bike this time, am hoping that one of the little boys at the nursery will have gone home by the time i collect ds2 because every chance this little boy gets he attacks my dd and she is only 2, the parents dont seem bothered and the nursery teacher just wants to sweap under the capert, talk her way out of it if this makes sence, either that if this boy is doing the same to my dd to my ds she blaims my son as being just a agresive(sp) I.E slamming this boys head off a wall.....so in other words my ds got he just deserves, my child is no angel but he wouldnt even think or know of doing something like that. I've tried going though her at least 3 times I would if I should go over her and phone call the head ? anyway never mind you dont want to hear my problems.
anywya i think thats me today.....unless i can thnk of something lol

I've just finished reading "The Pact" before that was "Keeping Faith" and "Salem Falls". Also read, "Tenth Circle", "My Sister's Keeper", "Plain Truth" (first one I read), I've got "Vanishing Acts" and "Perfect Match" on the bookshelf calling to me. Only another 6 to buy/borrow/read
Really hard to choose one as a favourite, I find her books very thought provoking. I think "My Sisters Keeper" was the one which touched me the most though. My d13yo is keen to read them too, he's read "Tenth Circle" and I've passed on "The Pact" to see how he finds that. I was impressed that he enjoyed her writing style because he's very much into murder mysteries and male authors!
Which one is your daughter reading?
Any other Jodi Picoult fans in OS?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning all!
Yucky, drizzly weather today, grr.
I'm another Jodi Picoult lover, been trying to get a couple of her books on ReaditSwapit, but noone wants to swap with me at the moment! So I might have to wait and buy the others-I have quite a few of hers. I might hint to family, as it's my birthday at the start of September
Today it'll be more form filling for my new job in Sept (will be working in mrs_mix's neck of the woods!), will have to send them all off on Monday as tomorrow there's the postal strike-going to try and get OH to do some more decorating and we need to get to the tip as our recycling pile is horrendous!
Last night I made some jam crumblies, will prob take them to the District meeting tonight... I'm so glad that I'm well enough to go, as I'm the new District PR, so really should be at every meeting! I'm sure the crumblies will win them round! I'm also going to make some cranberry, oat and white choc muffins as another breakfast option. When I was in Singapore, my host's maid made these gorgeous orange, raisin and oat muffins for our breakfast, so I might scour the internet for that recipe too!
To all of those going to see Harry Potter, I really hope that you (and the kiddlies) enjoy it! We're thinking of taking the Guides for their last meeting-if we can get a discounted rate anyway!
Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning All
I hope it stays dry for the morning, its DD sports day today! Sadly, I cant get time off work to watch her, but OH will be there!
Then its the school disco tonight! Its been non-stop all week
DS was a Rap Dancer in his performance last night. He was so good! I had a few tears during the show, I cant believe they're all growing so fast! It only seemed like yesterday, it was his first day!
Just hope OH manages to get some housework done this afternoon, there will be words later if he doesn't.
Chicken Tikka Curry tonight for dinner.
Not looking forward to work today, the manager is on hol, and the other girl who's in chearge is really taking the p!ss with her fag breaks. I normally have the attitude, if you cant beat em - join em. But I want to prove otherwise, that work has to get done. I will see how today goes!
Anyway, take care
Love Emma xxx
OH just come back from the school run, Sports day has been cancelled - Again! DD really disappointed!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Goodmorning everyone,
It's been a glorious day here.Going to be a cold one in the morning though. Lucky I'm use to freezing, artic conditions from Scotland.
Went and got all our supplies today, groceries, fruit trees & plants & DH other stuff. We also went to the dentist for a checkup. DH has to have 3 fillings, while I don't have to have any. :T
So I just got a clean & polish.
Shez Glad to see you're still around.
JillD Welcome. I'm sure you'll love it here and I"m sorry you had such a carp day yesterday. Hope today brings more joy.
Queenie How's your BTS journal going?
I better go and sort out tea. Have a lovely day. ByeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Grey skies & wet pavements here too.
Am off to a meeting with my boss this afternoon, and he's a man who simply cannot survive without lunch, so hopefully he'll be paying
Then it's rugby in Wigan tonight, so me, OH & BiL are off together. Tomorrow night is Harry Potter :T can't wait!
Queenie - I'm with you on the reading books more than once thing; in "84 Charing Cross Road" the writer says reading a book only once is like buying clothes & only wearing them once. Don't think I've read any Jodi Picoult yet, but need to start building a book collection for my holiday. On my last 2 week crash-out on the beach holiday I read 11 books
Catznine - enjoy Joseph. The only production of it that I've seen was the one we did at my primary school circa 1982 :rotfl: I expect this one will be much better
JackieO - know what you mean about the teenagers towering over you. I took my nephew out last weekend - he's 16 & 6'4"
Right best crack on, hugs to everyone else. Have a lovely day0 -

Kyle - enjoy the picnic!
jackieO - hope all goes smoothly for your DD today x
Mrs_Mix - hope the haircut helps you to feel better x
Today I'm off soon to clean for my 96 year old then am taking DS1 to work before doing DS2s paper round as he is off with his kids club tonight. So another busy day.
Also must ring my friend as she is going through a difficult time at the moment with finances and her OH and she has returned to drinking a couple of times lately( she's an alcoholic but been dry for several years now) am taking her out to lunch tomorrow to where my DS works (hope we dont embarrass him too much!)
Have a great day all, off for a browse now before I go out xxx
