rushing to get to see GP = hope to be signed off so I can get back to work for the few days before the long holiday.
Couldn't get near computer before as No 1 son was on-line. He has nobly given up his room for MiL - which was a huge sacrifice as he has his world in there!
Will pop back later to read up on every one else.
Took MiL to a chinese restaurant last night. She appeared totally confused and didn't understand the buffet system. This is worrying as she loved it last time we were there with her!

    Good morning everyone,

I love Jodi Picoult books - an author i actually buy the books of and keep (i think i have them all)!! My Sisters Keeper is still my favourite, i was in tears at the end of it, i could relate to most of the different views and then there was a twist that i wasnt expecting, brilliant!!! My other favourite is The Time Travellers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger? Def worth a look out in the library.

Quiet here at the moment, one LO not well, and the other isnt here until 10, so im having a lovely time on MSE, with no guilt at all!!!

Have a solicitors appointment later on as well, hopefully to change the childrens surnames. They want to have my maiden name (like me) and although we cant do that (their dad doesnt want to do the compromise, let alone change it completely) we can double barrel it and then although on all official documents it will show a double barrelled name, they can choose to be known as my name. Their dad, as i said, doesnt like even double barrelling it but as its their choice, hopefully it will go ahead without too much hassle - will find out later!!!!

Right, better go - going to have a cuppa in peace, and another look around MSE while i can!!!

Have a lovely day, ((HUGS)) to all who need/want one,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Taplady - CONGRATS to your DS1!!!!

Morning to all and big (((hugs))) to all those feeling unwell and/or with dental problems/appointments today!
JET77 - glad the Chicken soup helped - it's a shame the effects don't last longer, though!
WELCOME to JillD - didn't get a chance back on the thread yesterday pm so have only just skimmed the rest of the posts. JILL - I know you said you knew what your DH was like when you married him but that was nearly three children ago! As someone who had two sons TEN years apart, and found that challenging, I take my hat off to mums coping with children closer in age. I would look for a calm moment and try and have a word with him - you can't do everything on your own. Men think it's 'just housework' but it's hard work and the 'everydayness' of it makes you tired. My DS2 was very difficult as a child (which came as a shock because DS1 was a dream) and I so used to envy my DH being able to go to work and get away from the stress. Perhaps if you wrote down how your day goes - like you did in your post on here - and showed it to him, it might make him realise how hard you work. I do hope you sort something out before the baby is born because you'll be even busier. I must admit, it took me ages to even convince my DH that having a baby wasn't a walk in the park! He seemed to distance himself from all that went with it and once, when we were arranging a night out with friends, said 'what shall we do with Kathy's baby?'!! As though it was nothing to do with him! He's never lived THAT down, I can tell you! I would also see the GP if you're having pains - you must put yourself and the baby first. Good luck! Lecture over - I do hope you enjoy it here! We're all nice!
KYLE - what bad luck with the TD; is it worth getting someone to take a look at it?
AMIE - how are things with your DD?
JackieO - we have a house about 30k south of Poitiers, in Parthenay, which we're slooooooowly doing up - friends there say the weather has been awful - they haven't filled their swimming pool and say they don't think it's worth bothering with now. The men in your life sound great - so caring!
QUEENIE - I re-read certain books, as well. Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor (my fave book of all time!) and Wild Swans by Jung Chang (my second fave!). I am reading all the Anne Tyler I can get hold of but I will look out for Jodi Picoult now - I need someone to look forward to once I've run out of Anne Tyler!
QUEENPIG - the nursery really should take this seriously now, not sweep in under the carpet so it gets worse. Surely they have an anti-bullying policy like schools? I'd try and find out.
CRAZY - lots going on for you today - don't forget to try and take a bit of 'me' time!

Well, I have a load of paperwork still to get through but won't get much done this morning because I'm collecting DGD from nursery for lunch and playing with dolls so the paperwork will wait until this afternoon. We're having mince with mushrooms, courgettes, sweet pots and roasties for dinner - one of DH's favourites) and probably plum crumble for pud. I had planned Spag Bol for yesterday but realised too late that the meat I had taken out of the freezer was sausagement not mince (and yes, I had labelled it but it just looked like mince so I didn't think I'd need to read the label!) so I mixed that with some stuffing, shaped it into balls and served it with the bol sauce and it was delicious. Another meal invented by accident!
Weather is really overcast here this morning and it rained in the night but, apparently, it's supposed to be nice tomorrow so, fingers crossed!
Well, off now to get something done before I have to go out. I have at least made prepped lunch and dinner, cleaned the bathroom and tidied the kitchen so haven't completely lazed about!

Hope you all have a great morning. Will catch up later.

Catowen - my DH did that when he was 12, his Dad died when he was 3, and then his mum remarried when he was about 10, instead of taking the new name and being adopted by his new step-dad he opted to double barrel it, so I've got a double barrel name also now :D

Hope everyone is having a good day - (((((hugs))))) to those who are not.

Made some flapjacks at silly o'clock this morning, and decied to add some ground almonds - they are yummy :D Lunch is a HM tuna and salad wrap and banana (it was going to be flapjack as well - but I've just eaten that :o ). Dinner will be chicken with sundried tomatoes and olives, salad and jacket potato.

I'm really looking forward to receiving my new panny, bought it off ebay for £40, had to pay by cheque  so it's prolonging the wait, but it will be worth it - is it sad to get so excited by something

    Anyway better dash!

    Take care

    Morning All

Is overcast and quite cool here as well today, hope summer does start next week im fed up with it at the moment.

Plan of action today - general tidy up then ironing in front of the telly probably for the rest of the day. Need to have a rummage around the freezer for something for dinner and do a little washing. Have already done my business phone calls and there is some paperwork but will do that this evening before I settle down and watch Truth Dare Kiss.

Reading - I love it, have read Jodi Picoult - Salems Falls but will have to look out at the library for others, have to say though that Im just about to start a very trashy Jilly Cooper novel, her new one, they do make me laugh. Generally my favourites are thrillers and I love Stephen King & Dean Koontnz. Actually have to go to the library when the kids come home from school as DD couldnt find her library books this morning. Its only open 3 half days a week, its tiny but still has a good collection of books.

If the sun comes out there is nothing better than chilling and reading in the garden. At the moment Im just chilly sitting in my house!

    Have a great day.

    Morn All,

Isn't insomnia a wonderful thing? Up with my cold at 2 am hitting the Lemsip with brain overworking at the same time. Ended up with PKitty falling asleep on me on the sofa comfort sucking my finger knuckle. Decided to move to chaise longue rather than go back and disturb OH - so PK woke up and went -pyscho. ugh. Got to go back to bed when OH went to work at 5am. Woken up by PK trying to get under the pillows to groom my nose! I know it's bad when I hit the Lemsip BEFORE the coffee!

Empathy to others with aches and pains. Miolere - think I'll have to go buy chicken soup. The chicken pie we had last night didn't really hit the spot :)

Those big plans that I had at the start of the week to get life back on track .... well so far I've done Mondays flyladying, and none of the rest of the week. My list of 28 MUST DO items grew to 35, and I've done enough to bring it down to 28 again. I'm sure that I'll get the rest of it done in my cold and clammy horrible state:o

Hope all have a good day. Going to hit the hot bath in the hope that sweating bugs out works. Curry and chilli haven't so far!

    ((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS IF YOU NEED THEM)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Well I have been away from the site for over a week and am suffering from withdrawal symptoms..............I had an email from the moderators re the PM I had, I was so cross about the PM I deleated it as soon as I had read it and emptied the DI box so could not get it back..............but having said that if it happens again I will sign off for good, cannot do with a self rigtheous little prig calling me a liar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and various other things, sanctimonious old git was another.

We got stuck in the lift here at the complex last week, the doors jammed, had to get the firemen to come and rescue us, good job neither of us suffers from claustrophobia....although I was getting a bit iffy by the time they did get us out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not much happened here apart from that, just a normal week.

Yesterday was a black day, my new lap top would not fire up, its had to go back to my tame computer whizz, if its something he can't sort it will have to go back to Acer, so I am using OH's lap top, its old and very slow, but better than nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bit of a grey day OH is hoping to play his first game of bowls today since he tore his muscle, he did have a roll up last week and was ok, also has been doing some light digging at the lottie, so looks as if its healed alright........I am hoing to do some sewing whilst he is out..............

Mr T's have refunded us the delivery charge on the groceries from 2 weeks ago............as well as refunding the items that were wrong/left out and charged for...........so as well as making £6 on the delivery thanks to a code from the tesco board I also had £8.65 refunds......so nett shop was just over £27.00

Have only just got my feet on the floor this morning, two bad nights in a row, but OH let me sleep in this morning. My friend Linda in Canada has been sitting at the bedside of her sister for over a week, she had leukemia........and had fought a 7 year battle which she lost at 2am yesterday, Lindas 10th Wedding Anniversary............how sad is that!!!!!Linda was hoping to come to the UK next month, am going to have to wait and see if this affects her plans.

Right I think thats enough for today.......am off to drink by coffee which is wafting its smell towards me............

    Have a good day
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

ds2 is in bed to be yelled at in minute then sent to the bank to get me money that he owes me for his mobile, and as of this week lodge !

Can u tell that he got paid today i need to get in there quick:p

He works 9 hours /week at s/fields and doing 2/3 days a week at a goat farm we think that he needs to go self employed, but it might only be till the end of aug ,he thinks he might go back to collage ,not to sure what to do ahhh.

    DD ia at school

ds3 has in the last week sold his bike for £10,let off a stink bomb in the dining hall, had a water fight in dining hall, put his little fingur in this flys and startled a teacher, and a letter this morning spat down the stairwell at school oh and been sent out of science 2 times.School asked if any thing has changed at home ,well no but you have been taking him up to the upper school to look around for september dohhh.

ds4 is wanting attention at the moment so is playing up at the dinner table ,and some big kids are taking the mick out of his name for the first time.
dh didnt get the job that he went for, thank goodness as it was 4/5 grand a year drop in wage.we had a few TALKS about him even going for it.

Going to see gran tomorrow, take her out for lunch and a bit of a drive around then back ho me in time for the kids.
Gran tells me that when im older i will look back and miss having them around, and to make the most of it while they are with you.
But she lost my mum young so i think some time she dwells on it when she on her own.
Any way best wishes to those who need them:D

  • Hi all, hope you're all ok :)

Haven't posted on here for ages, been ill recently with my FM and stuck in the house unable to get online at my mam's. I've had withdrawl from you all!

Anyway, quick update here, we're renting out the house that we bought to enable us to save up for 6 months to get all the things we want done to it. Tenants move in in 2 weeks. Luckily found tenants who only want it for 6 months, as a stop gap. We're going on holiday in 6 weeks to Turkey for DP's mates wedding then when we come back i'm going to the doctors about coming off my pill and ttc baby no.2 :T :j :j I'm so excited!!!! Need to have it all planned and make sure i'm in the best possible health because i found my pregnancy with DD difficult because of my FM. DD finishes school next week for the summer holidays - can't believe shes done her first year!

For the next 6 months whilst we're saving and after that too when we (hopefully) settle into life as a family of 4 i'm going to be drawing on every OS resource i have so i'll be on here daily when i can :) Every spare penny is going into the bank and i'm going to have a look thorugh the cheapest meals thread for inspiration.

Not doing much today, i need to rest as i was up at the new house cleaning all day yesterday ready for the new tenants coming. DD at school, Himself at work so i have blissful peace!

B - Coco pops for DD, tea for me, weetabix for DP
D - DD at school, DP at work, beans on toast for me i think
T - Chicken stew and dumplings at my mams :D :j

    Take care all

    Hello again,

Glad to see you posting again Csarina!!!

Welcome back also lilmisskitkat - good luck in the coming months re a new arrival!!!

Well, im back from the solicitors, and we are going ahead with the name change - if he doesnt like it tough, its what the children want!!! Im not going to tell him until its done (mind you, could tell him now and it still wont change anything). My solicitor says he could go to a solicitor himself, but the advice he should be given is that he would be wasting his time fighting it, we are not removing his name only adding mine, so would be a waste of time and his money!!! Anyway, apart from an email address i dont have a clue where he is, so not my fault there!!!

Right, going to make LO her lunch, and then im going to enterr some comps while she has a little sleep - im having a good day today!!!

    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
