OS Daily 12th July 07

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thur 12th July. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Where is everyone today?
Anyways, I have athe day off and am hoping to go and play golf, followed by a meal... I feel I deserve it after yesterdays marathon wood chopping session. I managed to get 5 trailor loads of logs, all loaded by hand and then dumped inthe drive where I chopped and chopped and chopped. Got to the point where I ran out of steam.... Anyway should be set for about 2 -3 winters or an ice age which ever comes first.
Not much else going on... weather is still hopeless.. hope you all have a ncie one

Morning all
I'm still waiting to hear about the holiday job, so I still have my fingers crossed, lol.
I'ts drizzely here in Berkshire today & I think it's going to remain that way all day.
Every day I go to work promising myself I will get to the bottom of the pile of work on my desk & every day I leave work defeated as the pile just keeps getting bigger, still I can only do what I can & the rest will still be there tomorrow.
Still I have taken advantage of 10p listing day & uploaded some more stuff on to ebay.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Hugs Hester

Morning N9eve & jet 77 and all to follow ,
yes it looks like another grotty British summer's day again. I had a lovely phone call from one of my nephews last night ,he is hoping to take his Inspectors exam in the Autumn (he is in the police force)fingers crossed for him.I also had a nice email from his brother in Lancashire .He is a vicar just outside Bury, and he is going to be presented to the Queen at Buckingham Palace next Tuesday as he is to become a Queens Padre.I am so pleased for him as he is a lovely chap and well deserves the honour.I know his late Mum and dad would be proud of him as well.
They are both caring chaps and are being very supportive.
I am off with my eldest today as she has to go to see the plastics man at East Grinstead. She has a mole on her knee that she's had from birth and the Dr.s have decided it's time it came off (she is 40 at Christmas0 its a case of better safe than sorry .It never rains but it pours does it. I am going to make a flask of coffee and a few sarnies to take with us ,very 'Old-style' but the motorway resteraunts are so expensive and I like to know how old my food is .
Tommorow I am hoping to get tickets to take two of my grandchildren to see the Harry Potter film in Chatham , then I'm 'sitting' my grandaughter (14) I can't say babysitting anymore as she's taller than me .Mind you almost anything is taller than me. I seem to have shrunk as I got older.
Hopefully the M25 won't be too crowded at lunchtime ,it's about an hours journey to East Grinstead from where I live.
I hope everyone has a good day ,even if the sun doesn't shine . I am off to have some breakfast now
<<<Hugs>>> to those in need and chin up.
Cheers JackieO0 -

morning one and all
sunny here so far, today im going to look at local gyms to help with the weight loss, im looking at the ones with the swimming pools as initally i just want to go swimming on a daily basis and the local pool is nearly a fiver a time so would be cheaper to join a gym.. ive been to one so far and im going to another local one and see if i can play them off each other hee hee need to start toning up now.
oh got day off work so no doubt he will do my head in all day by being under my feet but never mind will put him to good use.
ive had a nasty cough for over a week now that has really made me feel really low and ill, not sleeping or eating much apart from rubbish to help with the cough so will see what the weight loss is doing tonight when go and get weighed.
Have a nice day everyone
hugs to all

Morning!:hello:
Very overcast here too so will concentrate indoors today! Other than taking some bags into the charity shop and trying not to be tempted into buying more (I know I shall fail there!:o ) and visiting friend I can stay indoors.
Tomorrow is another matter, it's the day of the bridge being fitted  hopefully won't be too painful as dd phoned to say she had got dh and I tickets to see Joseph! :j Clever lass! so something to look forward to at the end of all the dentistry!:T
Off to Aunties 70th birthday celebrations this weekend so I am trying to get a copy of a cute photo of her taken during the war aged 2 with her cat! Aww! very cute and will put it into a nice frame for her. Now to make a card!
Last night I managed to make an aubergine, mushroom and chickpea tagine with cous cous all from the store cupboard and veg box and dh loved it.
JackieO - good luck with dd's appointment and the M25
Mrs Mix - having my hair cut always makes me feel better, hope it does you as well
Kyle - enjoy your picnic
(((Hugs))) to all those feeling poorly
Have a lovely day!

:hello: Gooooood Morning fellow OS'ers
Just having a cuppa and a nosey before I have to get my R's into gear
Have a dentist appointment at lunchtime (some timing!) then race home, stick a chicken in the oven. DH is coming over this afternoon to replace the toilet seat and I'm feeding him in payment
Tonight we're off to see Harry Potter :j :j :j The boys don't know ... yet! It's going to be a really late night for them - they're off to the Dad's afterwards too. He can deal with the tiredness grumpies
Treated myself (and the Gift Cupboard) to some books the other day, WH Smiths has 3-4-2 on all books right now plus I had some money off vouchers so bargains galore (ish)I'm really into Jodi Picoult at the moment and even though d13yo has brought me a couple home from the library, I do like to keep a selection of books at home from my favourite authors because I do tend to go back to them and re-read them at a later date. Same way others re-watch their favourite films.
Need to make a batch of yogurt and the BM should be finished in the next half hour. Going to make up the loaf into sandwiches for the freezer so we can grab n run in the mornings. Too much to do and too little time most days
Starting to feel the benefits of the exercise classes I've been doing. Definately feeling like I have more energy, but it does also mean, between physical exercise plus flexing the old grey matter, I'm going to bed earlier and earlierThank goodness for JP to read before I drop off completely
JackieO - oooh how very exciting that your nephew is being presented to the Queen :T Best of British to your other nephew and his Insp's, I know how challenging that will be. Fingers X'd for your eldest!
mrs mix - enjoy the pampering of having your hair cutHope it's the boost you're looking for.
kyle - hope the rain holds off for your beach trip. Enjoy!
rose - hope your cough clears up once and for all ((hugs))
Right, need to finish my cuppa and get moving. Have a thrifty Thursday, ((hugs)) to those in need/want.
