I have just come back from a great PT session, I had a pinched nerve in my thigh, so the last couple of weeks had to be mainly bench based, but as it is 80% improved was able to do much more today:D

It is raining and blowing a hoolie, I needed something hot, comforting, tasty and easy to digest for lunch, I ended up using Mortgage Free in Three's basic recipe for 7 minute pressure cooker risotto adapted to make a scrumptious mushroom one, food for the soul and the body:D

OH has gone cycling, due back soon and will be wet and cold, so off to grab the shower before he comes in. (Then he gets to clean the shower :j)

Katie, well done, LL so pleased that your helper is making your life easier. Hugs to all that need them.

    Hi MM
Well done for persevering through your pain, makes you feel stronger I think.
Now sit back and relax by the fire and enjoy your lunch.

  • So glad to see "liberty of London" is back on our screens.
Such a lovely English institution and a pleasure to watch, I would love to go in and buy some prints, I love habberdashery.
Will put it on my wish list, but London is an expensive trek!
  • Hello all - I've been reading but not posting for a while as have had a bit of a down time. Now to pull myself back up again :)

I've decided to make time for me. A couple of nights ago I had a fab lush bath and read a couple of chapters of a book that I started at the beginning of the year (!). I've also booked myself some reflexology and a pedicure for the weekend, so hoping that will help too.

Might even try to do fab friday!
  • Good to see you back, Betty. Don't worry we all fall off the wagon sometimes, the most important thing is to just get back on track.

Lounge and dining room now painted, need to get the 3rd bedroom done over the week end and then those three rooms will be carpeted on Tuesday.

I can see light at the end of the tunnel......

Tomorrow I'm going to have to buy some more diy supplies so I'm going to stop by my favourite little independent boutique whilst I'm at it. There are also 4 charity shops in that shopping complex so I might just pop in and see if there's anything that takes my fancy.

My hands are dry, itchy and quite sore, I think it's the paint. I've tried wearing gloves whilst I work but can't get on with them. Need to buy some Vaseline intensive care tomorrow, it's the only hand cream that works for me.

I shall be fabbing up tomorrow for my little shopping trip......;)

    Hi again

All your positive thoughts are helping I am sure. Face on and perfume every day and some thought into what I am wearing instead of scruffs every day!

His moving day is now set for Monday I shall go out and wander round the shops so I am not here when he leaves. It will be a difficult day but will make it easier in the long term.

I know he wants to us to stay friends but its way too early for me at the moment. I need some time and space without seeing him every day and to plan what happens next for me. The treadmill and cross trainer will be set up for me to use again and I shall continue to watch what I eat - all positive steps.

Chat with hair dresser later today and the sun is out so going to potter in garden for a while.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

    Hugs

    Thanks Katiecat

Great attitude to have on living, excercise really does come in to play.
I now have my sit n cycle and it is placed strategically in my living room, trouble is, room starting to look like a mini gym with the ab king pro and leg master.
    Enjoy your weekend.
  • Good morning ladies.

We're very quiet on here - hope you are all well.

Just wanted to wish Katiecat well for tomorrow. Be brave - the worst will soon be over, just this last hurdle to overcome. Sending up positive vibes. Be patient things will get better.

Ds2 ploughed through the painting yesterday whilst I had a break and got on with some serious decluttering. Progress is definitely being made. Deciding to have the lovely C help me has to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. Our combined efforts have seen a real leap forward this last week.

Today DS 2 and I are off to IKEA so I'd better get cracking.

    Have a good day.

Same here katie. Just get yourself out of the house tomorrow and then from Tuesday you can please yourself how you live. It's not what you planned but try to turn it into a positive. Baby steps and you've made a start with the hair.:)

Oooh! do share. What are you looking for in Ikea? Our very slow plans to redecorate the house (well most of it) are coming along but my DH is very busy with one his hobbies at the moment. We've got as far as choosing sofas. A new line in Ikea.

They're quite traditional but then I have a quite traditional house. We'll get a two seater and a three seater and hopefully a footstool as well. My latest thoughts are to do the sitting room all cream/white including curtains (now patterned) and then a few coloured cushions possibly William Morris. I want something that looks fresh but won't date.

I'm keeping up with basic fabbing. Can't wait for my hair appointment on Wednesday. I have a couple of Christmas things to go to and a wedding in February so would be up for a new dress if I could find one. While I haven't looked seriously, browsing the other day I could fancy nothing. I must be getting super fussy in my old age!:rotfl:

Not much planned for today, other than a yummy roast.:D:drool: That's such a pleasure now that I don't have to dash around doing chores at weekends.

Seem to be missing my get up and go today:(, but showered, hair almost dry enough for styling, one hand has nails painted and need to moisturise top to toe, another cuppa and then will give myself a swift kick.

Funny how it is the little things that "set us off", camel's back and all that, I try very hard to follow my natural inclination of being glass half full, but I do have some health and mobility problems which have rather stuffed a lot of my plans for retirement:( the final straw today was being in the house on my own and not being able to open a new bottle of bleach, leaving bleaching the compost caddy another 3 hours shouldn't make any difference, but this morning it just seemed so flippin important and I felt so useless that I can not open the darned thing. First world problem and all that but a really :(:(:( hour or so, all my woes washed down the shower now and gearing myself up for a little walk with Miss Border Collie, we don't really mind the wet:D
