Hi all,
Glad to see this thread seems to be still going strongHave been MIA for a while but nice to see a few familiar faces still here, as well as lots of lovely new ones! Anyway, have been silly busy with work, trying to get out more to meet new people and had a wee bit of a fling that didn't entirely end well lol - so all things combined the fabbing has definitely slipped and could do with some motivation.
Had lost some weight but think most of it has probably crept back on again, so starting back on the exercise and healthy eating this weekend. Also got a bit lazy on the style front, so more effort needed I think.
Hope everyone is doing well x0 -
:hello:Hi pod, lovely to see you again. Think of you often.
I'm doing my best to keep up with fabbing. Much has become routine now thanks to this lovely thread but I'm always open to ideas.
Ghastly day her too and my high maintenance, flyaway hair has definitely suffered from the dampness.:(
Will post more when I'm not so ready to sleep.0 -

Good for you with the hair and dog walking, it sounds like you're doing brilliantly in very trying circumstances :T
I've had my hair dyed red! It's still a bit  when I look in the mirror :rotfl: but I like it
Also keeping up with moisturiser etc., and now my nails are stronger I can start painting them again woohoo. I'm on a roll this week.

katiecat - :j for the hairdressers and weight loss with dog walking!!! Hugs for those lower times
STILL haven't done my nails, I got side-tracked doing some jobs around the house, but I will have to take it off at least this evening as it's chipped and I can't stand seeing chipped nail polish. Make-up and hair done nicely for work and I have started the week off well with my eating - weighed out my cereal to the recommend 30g and I didn't go hungry, had a apple snack at 10.45am, lunch was a small prawn salad and a Activia yoghurt + recommended weighed out nuts for afternoon snack - pheeww!!! I am determined to get in shape!!!
Debating a meeting with hairdresser to discuss taking my blonde a little darker for the winter months then lightening it back up myself throughout the summer - just don't know if I dare!!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Good idea to get away for a few days katie, glad the family are looking out for you. I'm sure it's tough seeing the packing but it'll be better when you can draw a line and start moving forward.
Good idea to talk it through with the hairdresser then you don't make any rash decisions while you're trapped in the chair!! I'd start planning if I were you: fabbing yourself, wardrobe maybe a holiday, seeing friends. I can't remember if you said you worked, so perhaps a job or some volunteering.:T on the weightloss, stick at it.Debating a meeting with hairdresser to discuss taking my blonde a little darker for the winter months then lightening it back up myself throughout the summer - just don't know if I dare!!
I have my hair highlighted otherwise it would be a very boring mouse. I like a mixture of blonde and caramel shades and then (like you) I let it get fairer with the sun in the summer.
Had a good fabbing session today, all defuzzed and creamed now. Eyebrows tidied (easy to do at home once the basic shape has been waxed) and been to have my nails done. I've really been enjoying the Superdrug facewash with the muslin cloth, really feels clean afterwards.0 -
Hi Girls
I bought myself the new exercise bike called "sit n cycle", it has no bars or handles and engages your core, it was on offer for £139 instead of £199.00 and you can read your paper, watch tv, use computer etc also known as "active sitting", I have a dodgy knee so will make the 14 day money back guarantee work, hopefully it will be ok to keep it as I need to get going with the old weight loss challenge, to squeeze into my new size 18 dress, don`t want to be a 20 ever again. this particular designer have very neat 18`s which would be a 14/16 anywhere else though.
I also bought a few tubs of Maxi muscle lean when it was on offer in january, and will use it more.
last time i managed to lose it on slim fast as it replaced lunch only, but only because my holiday was looming, however i stopped it because was advised it contained hidden sugars by a slimming world attendee, but I didn`t attend.
I may try weightwatchers as a last ditch attempt if it doesn`t budge, but money is an object unfortunately.
I know I can lose it as i did it before, got some of those bake in the bag packs from Maggi, they are great as you can have a nice tasty meal that is low fat and a no brainer, you just season and cook, no oil. Brightens up your veg a treat.
I also stopped buying bread and marg but still have my treat of crisps or a sweet treat, I also buy those special k bars to take the edge off my sweet tooth.
my method is start on a 90/10 basis ie 90% of what you eat is healthy and you are allowed a 10% margin gradually whittle it down to 5% as your relationship with food changes, but I never denied myself fish and chips every few months or a Mcdonalds, if you do, you feel a bit deprived and that feeling makes you derail.
That is what worked for me plus 200 stomach crunches on my bench, does get easier I promise. I went down to a size 14 in jeans from size 20, now i am size 16 going on 18.
So onwards & upwards....0 -
Morning All
Chipped polish finally off, but nothing else on them yet. Went for my Monday eve run with my friend - we go every week and I'm feeling quite proud to still be going through the winter months! Make-up, spritz of perfume, hair up with a nice clip for work today. Normally I do a class on a Thursday but this week is the last one (just not taking to it) and as the normal instructer isn't there we are going tonight. Will be replacing not going with my Davina DVD & at home workouts. Determined to be back in a size 12 by Jan for my Birthday (currently at 12/14). Ideally then I can go have a shop for some new clothes in the Jan sales
nilequeen Instead of joining weight watchers / slimming world, if you know someone who goes maybe they will let you copy some of the information and you could have a weekly weigh in at home? Plus if you head to youtube there is plenty of posts relating to WW and SW there too? Or just go to a couple of sessions for the information then carry on yourself at home? 200 crunches  well done :T
Thanks mamanI'm quite a light blonde most of the time but just debating mixing it up for winter, shall have a think.
Has anybody taken to body brushing regularly each morning? I used to on and off and I still have a decent body brush, just wondering if to get back in the habit?Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Hello lovely,ladies
Glad to hear that you are all keeping up with the fabbing, healthy eating and exercise.
I have to confess that for the past week or so I have been looking like a paint spattered bag lady having had either a paint brush or roller permanently welded to my hand although I did make an effort on Sunday and got cleaned up to visit my mum. I wore my charity shop pure wool coat. It is in a nice bright turquoise so I felt quite cheery and perky. At £8 it was a bargain and I was nice and cosy and I looked quite smart, even if I do say so myself.
I shall be nipping out to Wickes in a moment (builders merchant) so I'm afraid I won't be getting changed - it will be paint spattered joggies and fleece for now.
Work going well and my new helper, the lovely C is fantastic. Downstairs carpet scheduled to,be fitted next Tuesday so it's a big push to get it all done.
My bedroom is an absolute tip, I can't find anything. I have a temporary hanging rail which is on the verge of collapse, hooks on all the upstairs doors. I will be so glad when we get to sort out some new wardrobes. I feel like I'm camping out and I'm really not a camping kind of gal......:rotfl:
Raining and miserable here.0 -
Afternoon All
A quick post before I dash off to work for the afternoon. I'm working with DS which I always enjoy.
I've been to Pilates this morning and then for a coffee with a couple of friends. I think the coffee and chat is just as good for me as the Pilates - an hour for the body and another hour for the soul!
I've signed up for a weight loss challenge at my Aerobics but am not sure how well I'm doing! I start off each day well and eat healthily but tend to get waylayed in the evening. Last night at work DS shared a bag of toffee with me - which I knew I should refuse but didn't. The challenge lasts for six weeks and tomorrow will be the end of the first week. I'm not counting calories but cutting out too many treats and also bread. The way that seems to suit me is to eat sparingly early in the day as I don't get hungry and then have a more substantial evening meal. I've just had a bowl of home made carrot soup and a banana. Tonight I shall probably have a stir fry with peppers, mushrooms, garlic, tuna and noodles and some raspberries with Greek yoghurt. DH and I usually have a few squares of dark chocolate about 9pm too as a treat.
Since I got back from coffee I've cleaned the chickens, done a bit of tidying and got changed for work. Today it's a pinky red, purple, black and white jersey top with smart grey jeans and the usual black ankle boots. I need to now go and do something with my hair. I might tie it back with a big black bow as it's not the neat bob it should be! I too have blonde highlights put in my hair(2 shades of blonde) although the hairdresser was talking about trying a few darker strands too next time. My new hairdresser is very good and has started coming running with my friend and I so is going to be seeing my hair at its worst - which should help inform her of what needs doing to it.
Have a good day everyone.
