Thanks Newthrift
The crunches were a killer to manage everyday but the end result was the closest I ever came to a washboard stomach, lo.
I dont know anyone that goes to ww but I do look at their recipes online, I know you have to weigh everything and get one of their measure things. It has some very inspirational results, but I won`t be trying any of their ready meals, rather make my own from scratch!
It also helps to eat before 6pm and clean your teeth so you don`t eat anything after,it works for me.

Morning All
It's a typical November morning today - grey and misty. I usually go for a long run on a Wednesday but have to go into work today to give a talk to 60 primary school children so have put off the run till tomorrow. It actually is better in a way as I have an Aerobics and a Circuits class tonight - plus the weigh in for the first week's weight loss challenge.
As I'm standing in front of an audience this morning I am a bit smarter than normal. I'm wearing a pinky purple shift dress with button detail shaping the waist, teamed with pink and grey striped cardigan, black knee high boots, black tights, long silver earrings and pearl necklace and bracelet. I've clipped an extra bit of curly blond into the back of my hair which is swept back and finished off with a clip in black bow.
After the talk I'm going to come home and get my sewing machine out and make a swimming robe out of an old towel for DGD. I cut it out last night so it just needs sewing together and finishing off. Hopefully, it will keep me busy so that I don't start getting hungry too early!
Hope all have a good day

Morning
Grey and lots of rain here todayHoping it clears by tomorrow!!
Popped the Sally Hansen clear 'miracle growth' polish on last night, hopefully give them a boost, although my hands have a bit of green and yellow colouring on them still as I was making Pudsey bear cookies for work today. My right hand looks a little like it has jaundice
Hair up in a neat pony, grey trouser, black & white top with a bow on + pink flower scarf (offices are cold at the moment) for work. Basic make-up on.
Tonight's job - retouch the roots of my hair so I no longer look like i'm trying to get the 'natural' ombre look :rotfl:
Have a nice day everyoneChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Going out for tea so will make extra effort to look nice and enjoy it.

Good to hear that you're going to fab up a bit to go out for tea katie. You may feel awful but you don't have to look it too! That'll just make you feel worse. Enjoy the break.:)
I managed to sort out my wardrobes yesterday. As we had that Indian Summer I'd avoided putting away all summery clothes. Miserable wet day convinced me.
I've got three bags of stuff for the CS. It made me realise just how many of my clothes are actually CS buys and the few that aren't are either very old or sale bargains or from TK Maxx.
It's not that I object to paying full price for something I think's worth it but I'm not paying full price unless I really, really like it and it's decent quality.
Haven't seen kiwi around for a bit.:wave:if you're lurking.0 -
Like you Maman virtually all my clothes come from the charity shop. I am also quite happy to alter things and change them around if I've only paid a couple of pounds for them which means I can customise them to suit myself.
I've posted a picture of DGD's swimming robe on the Make Do and Mend thread on the Old Style forum as I managed to get it made today. It also kept me well away from the nibbles ready for the weigh in tonight. Fingers Crossed!

Katiecat - hope you enjoy your tea. Getting dressed up and putting your best foot forward really does help. Of course doing your online shop and not buying your husbands favourites will be difficult. I'm sure there will be more triggers waiting to trip you and upset your equilibrium.
Losing someone you love is always painful. Divorce and separation is no less painful than bereavement. It is still loss and you still need to grieve.
Add disappointment and a sense of betrayal into the mix and you have a recipe for heartache. Be patient, life will get better. You will feel good again. Try not to feel bitter. I'm sure you feel lost and confused now and watching him pack his belongings as he prepares to leave must be terribly difficult. Hopefully once he has actually left you will be able to pick up the pieces and rebuild your life.
In the meantime take care of yourself.
I do like charity shops but have noticed that there have been slim pickings of late. I've not bought anything for a while now, I just can't seem to find anything that takes my fancy. Hopefully it's just a temporary blip.;).
The decorating continues, it's a real slog now. I'm really having to force myself. Never mind it will eventually come to an end. My helper is an absolute godsend. I wish I could afford to keep her for ever:rotfl:0 -
Katie I hope tea was nice
LL keep going it will all be worth it
I used to hate charity shops as a child because I used to find them smelly but as I have got older I do enjoy rooting through and finding some lovely gems in need of a new home + they don't seem to smell as fusty either anymore!
Being a little lazy and not scrolling back but do I recall seeing someone say they have sorted themselves a capsule wardrobe? Any pointers or places to point me in the direction for planning/arranging one much appreciatedChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

I have just come back from a great PT session, I had a pinched nerve in my thigh, so the last couple of weeks had to be mainly bench based, but as it is 80% improved was able to do much more today:D
It is raining and blowing a hoolie, I needed something hot, comforting, tasty and easy to digest for lunch, I ended up using Mortgage Free in Three's basic recipe for 7 minute pressure cooker risotto adapted to make a scrumptious mushroom one, food for the soul and the body:D
OH has gone cycling, due back soon and will be wet and cold, so off to grab the shower before he comes in. (Then he gets to clean the shower :j)
Katie, well done, LL so pleased that your helper is making your life easier. Hugs to all that need them.

Hi Ladies
I would say the best charity shops are in the more affluent or posh, rich neighbourhoods, where you may get a designer bargain or two,or at least once or twice, if at all, worn clothes.
Having said that, I only usually donate to Oxfam and the Red Cross because of their work overseas and in war situations etc
I don`t really buy from charity shops but once bought a really pretty enamel butterfly brooch it had such vintage charm, I still have it but don`t really wear it.
I do have a really interesting jewellery collection which I have been parting with slowly but surely, lovely silver rings from the craft centre so designer really. Also lovely Thai necklaces very Lola Rose in appearance, I even took a lovely expensive Jane Shilton handbag in once, it was £140 and I had only used it a few times but it was not earning it`s keep and kept slipping off my shoulder, It was not a softy leather but a hard firm one, I thought someone else should enjoy it, as with most of my things. The ladies in there love my things and there is always an air of interest and even excitement when I go in. They say they don`t know how I can bear to part with it.
I just can`t be bothered with ebay or trying to sell my things, too much hassle, it earns me more merit to give them to charity. It is also a nice feeling that they will go to a good home and be appreciated by others.
I gave all my lovely size 20 linen trousers, that I had not even worn,. to the salvation army to send to the third world, shoes also go to the third world but high heels go to Oxfam.
I even used to give my newish makeup bits to one charity shop and people did buy, including the manager, she told me one lady comes in asking for makeup and mine used to sell fast. But then another manager took over and went all health and safety. I don`t really make makeup mistakes any more.
i only stick to what I know and will try before I buy. I discovered Cargo at debenhams and bought the most gorgeous lipstick colour, a lovely magenta shade and wore it to salsa night, on holiday in Egypt ,with my lovely Ted Baker pink maxi dress and a big pink flower in my hair.
I got quite a few compliments and a double take or two!
Flattering because they were lookers but made my partner jealous,0
