  • I,ve sent 2 emails with no reply, still not received my Egg Cooker and I was one of the top 50 to purchase a cooker and become an egg tester. So annoying.
  • Just got an email from Dotty Seddon saying that my cooker is dispatching next week. Can anbody that has received one confirm if it works?

Can't wait, I am actually really excited to be finally getting it. I keep forgetting about the fact that I ordered this!
  • At Long last.
Received an email from Dotty yesterday

    Dear Mr xxx,
I apologise for the long silence and the endless wait for your cookers.
As you have heard we have now finally started to dispatch a number of cookers after months of testing, making adjustments and waiting for parts.

I would be grateful if you could confirm that your delivery address is still st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } !xxxxxxxxxxxx

We will then be able to send your cookers out within the next week. You'll receive another email to let you know when they are dispatched. Thank you very much for your patience.
    Kind regards
    Dotty Seddon
  • When you boil an egg, the emersion in boiling water for 3 + minutes will kill most bacteria on the surface of the egg shell.
Boiling an egg provides heat to the entire surface of the egg.
I wonder if the Eggxactly will be as efficient at killing Bacteria as plain old boiling?

Any scientists out there want to chip in?
  • Hi Everyone.
Received my Egg Cookers today, well 2 of them as I wanted 2.
Waited yrs for this and so glad I waited.

Must admit they are very impressive and worth the money, used one and was very please with the result. my observations.

The unit looks impressive and looks smart, the gold is more yellow than gold, but looks great. On first use you think it is going to break the egg when closing but the heating elements are covered by flexible almost spongy rubber so plenty of give, looks like only quality materials have been used unlike typical china products. You have 4 setting depending on wanting a soft or harder cooked egg, I used No 2 and my egg was perfect for me and it took 7.5 mins and was hot on the inside and outside so I,m sure any germs on the outside of the egg would have been killed over 7 mins. I,d buy again no doubt, no sausepan to wash up only wipe the rubber with a damp cloth and ready to use again.

When cooking a light is on telling you and bleeps and flashes when ready. Looks like no expense spared in producing this.

Shame about the lack of updates etc.

Any more info I can help on please ask away.
  • My Eggxactly that I ordered in October 2013 also arrived today! I agree with canaries - its appears to be a quality product.

I have cooked two eggs but I think a little more experimentation might be needed to get the best result.

I used setting number 2 for my first attempt. The egg came out very hot and appeared to be just as I wanted with a solid white and runny yolk, however towards the bottom the white was very runny and still transparent in colour.

For my second egg I used setting 3. This took 10 minutes to cook but resulted in a better outcome. The yolk was still runny but the white was fully cooked. On this attempt, just before the cooking completed, I heard a "cracking" sound from the unit. I suspected that the egg had broken and sure enough on opening the eggxactly I found that the side of the egg had cracked where the "egg present" microswitch makes contact. This wasn't a problem at all since the egg was cooked by this point.

Both the eggs that I used were Large and they were straight from the fridge. Next time I'll try with room temperature eggs to see if this helps. I should also add that I ate the eggs as soon as they came out of the cooker. Waiting for a few extra minutes might be better.

I took a few photos of the unit and the cooked eggs but unfortunately as a new member I am not allowed to post links to the images.
  • Since yesterday's posting I have cooked 2 more eggs and these both turned out perfectly (fully cooked white with soft yolk). I have adjusted the Eggxactly settings so that it cooks for slightly longer. Both eggs were large and straight from the fridge.

So my verdict so far is that I love the Eggxactly. The two key benefits for me are:
    • Eggs cooked to just how I like them everytime
    • No need to watch the cooking process - pop an egg in, switch on and then return later to a perfect boiled egg.
    It also looks really good!
  • Hi
To anyone who has the egg-cooker.

I have noticed quite a few of the eggs after cooking have cracked in the spot where the switch is, which is in the bottom section of the cooker under the rubber. When you feel it, it is raised and quite hard, so when you have a reasonable sized egg which you would have to push the lid down quite firmly it would push down on the covered switch causing it to break in that area.
Anyone else had this problem ?
No point in contacting Eggxactly as I doubt they would reply.
  • Wow, I've been checking the eggxactly website on and off since dragons den, I had assumed that the last update in Sept 13 was the death knell of the product given the lack of updates. Goodness knows how much £££ they must have blown over the 8 years!

So its great to hear someone somewhere has used one, even if it sounds like it isn't quite perfect given the microswitch issue.

Shame, because I like eggs , and I'm eggtremely lazy, too lazy to boil water to cook one..
  • Does this cook one egg at a time?
