Been this way for a long while in that you get the broadband for £2.50 less if you have a TV package, as mine's just gone up as I cancelled the TV.
Wasn't aware that you pay more for the TV if you don't have other services though. Possibly got your wires crossed or is it a new development?
I think they have it the wrong way round as it's £5 and £2.50 off broadband for having landline and tv respectively.0 -

Thanks. Didn't think so (unless it had been dropped in with the price rises they announced), which was why my next sentence wasPossibly got your wires crossedI think they have it the wrong way round as it's £5 and £2.50 off broadband for having landline and tv respectively.
I think it was just an excuse to have a pop at Sky whether it was factually correct or not! :rotfl:0 -
My OH has an expensive Sky bundle which he's had for years. He was considering dropping the sport channels, but then they started to advertise the 'free broadband for those with the sports channels' (think that's what he said anyway) and he's been trying to get onto that via his Sky box for the last week - with it constantly telling him he needs to do it via some other route.
I've emailed him the article this thread relates to, as going onto that deal locks him into a minimum term contract and presumably puts him at risk of this increase (which I sceptically suspect is to recoup the money they're losing by giving out the free broadband!)Cheryl0 -

I didn't think these were available in the UK yet?0 -

So much for customers in contract......
I havent been in contract for years but got a letter today saying my tv entertainment package + sky sports is going up £3.50 a month from September 1st
So over 7% increase for a customer with just TV that isnt in contract........only reason I use Sky is for F1 but no other way of watching all F1 races without using these guys :-(0 -
When I mentioned the upcoming rise for those in their first year, my OH (who's been with Sky for years) said he was waiting on the annual price rise which happens every September - so it sounds like that's what you've just been notified of.Cheryl0

When I had Sky I was paying £15 for 2 mixes. By time I cancelled 4 years later I was paying £25 for same 2 mixes. Dread to think what it would be now.0

Signed up in Feb 2014 for a minimum 12 month contract and have now been informed that the price increase is £4 per month from Sept. I have argued that surely this cannot be done as I am locked in to a 12 month agreement and prices were fixed at that time.
Apparently not as there is a clause in the contract which says that Sky can provide one increase per year with notice to customer.
I said is there a fixed percentage increase to which I was told no. I was also told that if I cancelled now then I would be in breach of contract. So looks like I have to suck up the 6% increase.
Oh yeah and Sky rep said the price increase was to be able to keep bringing great TV to me. But if not everyone is getting the increase then surely it's only the people that pay extra that should get the extra benefits?
Looks like termination after the 12 months is up. roll on Feb 2015.0
