i speak to my mum every other day, see her on most weekends she lives about half an hour away! i havent seen my dad since 2011 when he moved abroad with his wife and family. we keep in contact via whatsapp but i miss him immensely. i'm supposed to visit later this year. he has two young kids whom i have no contact with and i feel terrible as they are my half-siblings.

Son dosent seem to want a family life. He prefers going to raves with friends when not working. He dosent seem to interact with anyone unless they are his age and like the things he does music and raves.

he could have go on holifays with family and attended many get togethers and had a good family life but he opts out.

little bit selfish but there you go.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

The other thing I'd say is I'd be wary of confusing contact with closeness. One of my parents lives with us. We're not particularly close though.

We see DH parents once in a blue moon, theyve not seen our kids in nearly 2 year, their fault not ours. They really have no interest in DH or our kids. Their loss...

My sister and I didn't see our mother for nearly 8 year, she got in contact a couple of months ago because she has got terminal cancer and we call and see her one or two times a week. In fact been today. Makes me wish we had buried the hatchet years ago but it is what it is. Have to move on from here.

I see my Mum & Dad pretty much every week, at least every two, and speak once or twice in between. They live 30 mins away. OH's family are same distance, but seen less as they have a lot more on. Still once or twice a month though!

I see my mum and dad about four or five times a year. I go up for a week at a time when I can but dad is in the early stages of what is believed to be Korsikoff's syndrome (alcohol related dementia) so I may move back home in the near future. Speak to mum every day by phone and she occasionally FaceTimes me with help from my brother. I speak to brother and sister occasionally by text or phone or Facebook but only see them if they happen to be around when I'm up.
