Glad it's going well - there are always a few teething problems (we're actually in the 10th month of them....lol) but it'll soon be sorted!

Great progress on the list! x

  • Hope things work out for you jodles! Moving is so stressful!

I have a To Do list on my phone that goes on forever, today I have rung tv licencing and bought home and life insurance. Tick, tick, tick!:D

In the light of all the purchases recently, some expected, some unexpected and some more to make, and also in the light of various bills not getting confirmed for some time (Council can't tell me my CT bill yet... no idea what energy or water will be...) I have come to the conclusion that bills and credit cards are going to be my priority for a little bit, before I can get to overpaying in earnest.

In the meantime, I will keep up with the TTs and other sneaky savings. I have £107 in my MOP account so this will get added to slowly! I have just hassled Quidc0 for my car insurance payment of £75 - that will be going straight in! Ooh and with the insurances I bought this morning I should have bagged another £75 and a meercat for eB4y! :T

The house is still chaos... I am at work thinking about all the things I could be doing if I was at home...
OH is coming to stay for the weekend so I am hoping he'll make himself useful! :rotfl: I have a distraction though, a wedding tomorrow and this evening I am making 100 cupcakes for the evening do - in an oven I have never used before, and in a kitchen that has not been unpacked, with hardly a spare surface.:eek::eek:

Hope everyone is having a lovely Friday! :)

Settling into a new house always entails a host of little (or not so little) expenses that you don't know about until you move in. There will be time for OPs in a while once you're sorted.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
  • You are certainly right there Lydia! I've still got loads to get, like towel rails and door hooks - the tiny stuff that makes life easier and you only really notice when they are not there!
Most of the bigger stuff is here or ordered, thankfully, but the credit cards are creaking as a result!

Time has been flying, not much to report really, still waiting for bills to come in before I know where I am. Vmedia owed me £9 (woo!) after they charged me £11 'disconnection fee' (What for?!) Old council tax sent a cheque for £95 :T

DD has got a job! :j Part time but a great start so she is thrilled. DS barely ever get out of bed before 2pm, as specified in the teenage guide to school holidays.... but he has hoovered this afternoon. _pale_

MOP fund stands at grand total of £114, but I have a TT of 1p to transfer. :D

    Hope everyone is doing well!
