Thanks for the encouraging posts!

Unfortunately, some frustrating news today - message from solicitor to say we can't complete on Friday, and would next Friday be ok?
I told her no, it won't, as I expect to have moved by then, and if I don't I will have to rearrange the removal, the carpet fitting, collection of old white goods, the broadband connection, and also be without broadband at old (current) house. Have asked for Wednesday next week as a compromise but she hasn't replied and I feel pretty deflated. Why does it take so long??? I can't help thinking that someone is not on the case! Thank goodness there is no chain, I couldn't bear the stress!
On the positive side:
Got antibiotics and feel much better! :T
TT of 39p, and some change for the change jar which I decluttered from OH's flat at the weekend. Why do men leave money about? I have decided it is only stealing if it is in a pile on the mantelpiece; tidying coins that are on the floor is fine
Decided on a new sofa from !kea and found out they can deliver really fast - unlike some I could mention! (Don't ever get me started talking about D F S...)
Bunny is eating a bit and seems ok, although subdued. Subdued bunny is no bad thing.
Sunny evening
hope everyone is having a nice one.

:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: about the delay.
Have a dodgy hug: :grouphug:
V glad to hear you got the antibiotics. Cystitis is NOT fun.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Lydia a dodgy hug is just what I needed this evening, thank you!

Spent less on presents for DS this year - he doesn't actually want much. Yes, I know, he must be unique amongst teenagers. :rotfl: I keep thinking that one of these days he will develop an expensive hobby or ask for designer clothes (haha not in this family) but it hasn't happened yet.
I recognised the irony of harrassing him to tell me things he wanted for his birthday, then in the same breath asking him to declutter his room of 'all this junk'! :rotfl:
Enjoying Natty's diary at the moment, off to have a little read before baking starts.

Sorry about the move, how frustrating! Good that you didn't just roll over and accept what the solicitor said, I think they're a world away from what's going on sometimes, especially with all those arrangements you've already got in hand.
Fingers crossed you get a happy news phone call before the end of the week! xStash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Thanks Habibiboo!
Just called the solicitor - no answer. That is reception by the way, not a direct line. Sent an email requesting an update and confirmation that we can complete on Wednesday, I am feeling so sick now, I'm worried the lender will withdraw the mortgage offer, irrational probably but ahhhhhrghhhhhh. I really don't think it needs to be this stressful.
Really appreciate people reading and the virtual support, thanks guys.

Happy Saturday everyone!
I spoke to my solicitor on Thursday afternoon and it appeared there had been a lost fax and this was causing the delay, as well as the inexplicably long time it takes Santan9er to answer a simple question. Fax was found/resent, and seemed to be every reason for optimism. However, yesterday I received another call and the upshot of that is that we won't complete till the week after next.
I am actually surprised at how calm I am. I think I am too tired to be angry.getting-sorted-sarah wrote: »Done

Sorry to hear about the moving stress. When we bought our house, the people we were buying from ended up taking nearly six months to be ready to move, and we were within about a week of our mortgage offer expiring. Then we took a day off work (Friday) to exchange and complete, only to be told at 4pm on that day that the people hadn't booked a moving van, so it'd be the Monday. Took the Monday off, and got the keys about 4pm. Went to house, and opened front door, only to realise that person was still in there! They were very apologetic, and all fine in the end, but what an experience, lol.
I'm sure it'll all get sorted and you'll soon be in, and enjoying your new home.
Glad to see the wine helped

Hi Giblet! Wow that does sound stressful! I'm moving into a brand new house luckily, but I can just imagine the people who are buying the house that I am leaving turning up at the door whilst we are still here!

Hey ho, there is nothing to be done but get on with it! Been a bit of a blah day but took the bunny to her post-op check and she is doing well. Have done a bit of packing this evening. I have no idea what is in the boxxes I packed a couple of weeks ago - they are all labelled, of course, but what is all that stuff?! Obviously I don't need it all....
Talking of stuff I don't need, given the bonkers thunder and lightening, I have given up on the car boot sale tomorrow, charity shops it is!
S x0 -
Thunder, what thunder? Today has been glorious. All day. To replace the missed car boot sale I have listed some Days Out tokens on eB4y - I have 9 watchers and no bids. Had forgotten how addictive eB4y selling is - currently checking every 30 minutes.
Today's achievements (in addition to eB4y listing, oh yes)
Decluttered the bedlinen drawers (threw 80% of it out and washed the rest ready to pack). (Pack = throw into bin liner.) What a load of tat I was holding on to
Explained to DS(15), for the 4th time, that everything needs to be packed, including all of that stuff. And perhaps he doesn't need the lego/plastic dinosaurs/enormous pirate ship anymore? Maybe?
Did a bit of shopping without spending - pricing up curtains and cushions. Did manage to get tapped for a jacket potato to sustain DD in the hungry work of choosing curtain rails.
Have not yet succumbed to buying wine. But I might do. No, I won't.
Not a bad day all in all! SO HOT!
